Dr Michèle van Niekerk is a paediatrician in private practice in Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa. She has always enjoyed writing and had her first poem published in English Alive, while she was in High School. She used to contribute esoteric essays to Whaletalk, a local publication in the 'fishing village'.
