A great big hug in book form, Snuggle Puppy is a year-round valentine from parent to child. It is bright, chunky, a pleasure to hold, and has a die-cut cover that reveals a glimpse of the joy inside before it's even opened. Best of all, it's packed, of course, with pure Boynton: her inimitable language, her inimitable illustrations, her inimitable sense of fun.

OOO, Snuggle Puppy of mine! Everything about you is especially fine. I love what you are. I love what you do. Fuzzy little Snuggle Puppy, I love you. Featuring a sweet and cuddly doggie cast and rhyming verse, Snuggle Puppy is the perfect bedtime book to read last, because of an ending that kids will want again and again: I started with OOO. . . . Now we'll end like this: [BIG SMOOCH!]

Oversized lap edition also available—perfect for reading aloud!

About the Author

Sandra Boynton is a popular American cartoonist, children's author, songwriter, producer, and director. Since 1974, Boynton has written and illustrated over sixty children's books and seven general audience books, including five New York Times bestsellers. More than 70 million of her books have been sold, "mostly to friends and family," she says. She has also written (with Michael Ford) and produced six albums of renegade children's music. Three of her albums have been certified Gold (over 500,000 copies sold), and Philadelphia Chickens, nominated for a Grammy, has gone Platinum (over 1 million copies sold). Boynton has also directed twelve music videos of her songs, including the award-winning "One Shoe Blues" starring B.B. King, "Alligator Stroll" starring Josh Turner, and "Tyrannosaurus Funk" (animation) sung by Samuel L. Jackson. She lives in rural New England, and her studio is in a barn with perhaps the only hippopotamus weathervane in America.

A very sweet short book. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't really a "song" but spoken only.

We prefer the song version over read it to me so we either read it ourselves and sing, or play the sing as an mp3 in the background. Only 4 stars bcs we wish it was interactive, pls make it an app, Sandra!

We loved this book to pieces, literally, before she turned two. Now that it is on the Nook, we won't have that problem anymore. Snuggle Puppy is a sweet story of a mother dog telling her puppy how much she loves him/her. The only bad thing is that the author talks throughout, rather than sings the story. So, I used the record option in order to sing the lyrics to my own snuggle puppy. We are both happy with it. Highly recommended for Valentines Day or anytime at all. Very cute!

Sandra Boynton is a master! Anything by her is worth it and my kiddos love to have these read to them.

I love this book and so does my son! However i did not like the author reading it in the least bit. It was boring and weird sounding. The volume was very low too. It did not meet my expectation at all!

I recently purchased this board book for my 16 month old for her Valentine's Day present and I absolutely loved this book. It is a sweet love poem that every parent, grandparent, sibling or village will enjoy reading to their "Snuggle Puppy"! I can not wait to read this to her on Valentine's Day!

I love, love, love this board book! Which is appropriate, since the story is all about love; how much we love our fuzzy little snuggle puppies. I have such a good time whenever I read this to my daughters. They are snuggle puppies and I feel like the words are flowing right from my heart, rather than a book. The illustrations are typical Boynton style: animals, bright and cartoony, but these pictures feature a lot of hugs and kisses. Boynton's books always have a lyrical quality that makes them sound song-like, but this one is an actual song. A love song, from a parent to a child. My oldest girl particularly loves the "Ooooo, snuggle puppy of mine" refrain, and will sing the "ooo" line by herself (which is adorable). We bought our copy as an over-sized edition from Costco, and what a bargain it has been. This is possibly my favorite title from a talented author.

This book is a cute, poem slash song that you could read and sing to a young child. It features a mommy dog explaining just how much a mommy loves her baby. the pictures are just as cutesy as the words, they are drawn in the trademark boynton style.i love this book because the reaction i get out of my daughter is priceless. she giggles, and dances when i sing the words as a song. i really enjoy reading it to her. in a classroom environment, this book would be perfect for discussing family in a younger grade such as pre-k or kindergarten. they could do simple hand or rocking movements to get them going.
