This is my first e-magazine. I already have a print subscription. I love the print version, but I agree with the other reviewer that the on-line version is better. I had already gotten the December Christmas copy in print and had read it. I subscribed because I could get the on-line in addition and thought this would be a great way to try out e-magazines. It's very well laid out, I like the way that it doesn't go page by page but article by article. And the pictures pop! I discovered articles and recipes that I'd missed, because they didn't stand out in the print version. I love it!!

This issue if full of all your summertime activities, from vacation and beach spots with which places you might enjoying eating. Receipes galore for summer cookout and barbeques, beautiful table settings. And....the ability to check the items of interest on your Nook are awesome, it's really better than actually better than turning the pages. My only regret is the first issue is $1.99 very fair but subsequent issues will be $4.99 a abit much for me.

When the quality of your resolution is abhorrently poor. It is impossible to enjoy all the great details that make southern homes welcoming and approachable. I hope you rethink releasing such poor quality photos and text. It's all about the visual eye candy. Looking at blurry text and pics even when minimally zoomed in is disheartening...so sad. Please oh please fix!

Articles are easy to read with the updated Nook app. The decorating and recipe pictures have always been great.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received from Barnes & Noble. I signed up to get the free e-magazine I received as a gift with the hard copy magazine. Barnes & Noble charged me for the free subscription. When the $2.15 charges showed up on my credit card statement, I thought it was from a book I purchased. The representatives & manager would not refund the money to me. I was suspicious of the charges because I haven't been purchasing any books in over 7 months because my Nook won't hold a charge for very long. I haven't been able to read books or magazines. Told the manager this info and she said I should have realized the charges sooner so they won't refund my money for this magazine. This wasn't the only magazine subscription. Barnes & Noble is very deceptive. They wrongfully charged my credit card and refuse to refund these $2.15 monthly charges for 3 magazines. The manager finally said she would refund some of the charges. As of 1/17/18 they refunded 10 of the 23 charges. I am LIVID and absolutely not satisfied with the liberties they took with my credit card. I previously sent an email to Barnes & Noble to talk to someone else but no one has responded. I will send another email and post on social media. These are deceptive practices and I don't want anyone else to go through this.

I have loved SL for years--at least 35+. The magazines, the cookbooks, the directions for a satisfying Southern life even in the mountains of Southeastern KY have enriched my life. My friends have enjoyed the results of my using the recipes--especially the "wow" cakes for holidays. Rick Bragg is amazing--one friend (I gift her an annual subscription) always reads him first! And I just read, reread him always.

I was so disappointed that the magazine never showed up in my library and I was never able to access it, but was charged for it.
