About the Author

By profession, I’m a technical writer, computer geek, and ex-interior designer. I’m good at two out of three of these things. I had the sense to quit the one I sucked at. That’s how I currently support myself. To deal with my mid-life crisis, I’m also writing adventure novels featuring a middle-aged female protagonist. And I’m learning to kickbox. This seemed more productive than indulging in more typical mid-life crisis activities like getting a divorce, buying a Harley Crossbones, and cruising across the country picking up men in sleazy bars. Especially since it’s winter most of the months of the year here. It’s much more comfortable to sit at my computer. And hell, Harleys are expensive. Come to think of it, so are beer and gasoline. Oh, and I still love my husband. There’s that. I’ll stick with the writing.

My only complaint is that I have to wait till 2015 for the next one. It has been a pleasure to enjoy the crazy journey that is Adyan's life.. She makes the dread of over 45 a bit more bearable!!

Thanks for minimizing her time decrypting in the network and coming out of it hurting. Made me wonder why she kept going back. That part of it needed to be shortened. I still want her to keep her abiliities in there, but showing her strength and capabilities outside the network is just pure fun reading! Would be great for her to heal and choose a partner that she can be happy with, either Helmand or Kane... both are good. Can't wait to see who she ends up with and how she gets there. Thanks for penning such entertaining books, Diane.

Diane Henders is one of the best authors of today.  Her amazing series is gripping, thrilling, funny and warm.  Inspite of the wonderful adventure and terrifying danger the thing I love best it the great connection among the characters.  Spy Now, Pay Later is my favorite of this awesome series, but it may just because I always love the one I am reading.  This is definitely a reread book.

Glad for the turn of events so that Aydan isn't suffering so much in the network. As an over-50 female myself, I can understand Aydan's hesitancy in being locked into a relationship, plus Aydan had that miserable marriage which doesn't help her to move forward. Hoping the series continues long after #10.

I love the series, and read all 8 books in a row, and am now stuck waiting impatiently for the next. Hard boiled is definitely a good description, but the books have spots of humor, a little drama, and overall exceptional. Thank you Ms. Henderson!

I'm still trying to decide if I really like this series, after 8 books I still dislike Aydan and Arnie. The cover of Arlene is pathetic and Fuzzy Bunny, really! The author is a good writer even with stupid plots. I'll probably read the next chapter of the story just to see if Aydan makes the right choice (John), if she continues having sex with Arnie I'm done.
