Overview

Detective Sonia Maza is investigating what appears to be a series of cartel-related murders. But as the corpses keep piling up in bizarrely gruesome and intimate ways, Maza soon realizes this is the work of a serial killer—with deeply personal motives. And more dangerously, a vigilante who has mastered hiding in plain sight, taking on the identities of those we most often overlook in society in order to achieve brutal-and permanent “justice.” Detective Maza pursues the killer at the expense of her own personal life and finds herself on a gruesome journey that will ultimately lead her to question her own feelings about justice and what it means to be “good” or “evil.”

She has also worked on popular titles like Adventures Of Supergirl (DC Comics), Wonder Woman ‘77 (DC Comics), X-Files and Orphan Black (IDW), Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman (DC), The Vampire Diaries (DC), Phantom Lady And Doll Man (DC), Star Trek (IDW), Tales For A HalloweeNight Vol. 1-10 (Storm King Comics), John Carpenter’s Tales Of Science Fiction: Surviving Nuclear Attack with Joe Harris (Storm King Comics), and almost 20 years in the Star Wars universe with Lucasfilm. Janice Chiang is a comic pioneer as one of the first female letterers in the industry. From hand-lettering to digital, she has forged the way for countless female comic artists. She was also the letterer for the Eisner nominated Storm Kids Comics STANLEY'S GHOST and two time Eisner winner DC Comics SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN.Comics Alliance honored Chiang as Outstanding Letterer of 2016 and ComicBook.com gave her the 2017 Golden Issue Award for Lettering. In May 2017, Chiang was featured as one of 13 women who have been making comics since before the internet on the blog Women Write About Comics. With her kind and forthright nature, Janice has built a loyal family within the comic community. Everyone has met her at one time or another.
