The third volume of Barnes & Noble's exclusive series, Sunday Music, captures a distinctive mood through voices both familiar and brand-new. The collection offers the languorous majesty of Cassandra Wilson on “Closer to You” and the hard-earned renewal of Katie Herzig’s “Wish You Well.” The raw yearning in “When Your Mind’s Made Up,“ by the Oscar®-winning duo (from “Once”) The Swell Season, follows the achingly lovely “Cinema Paradiso Main Theme,” as interpreted by jazz giants Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny. In addition there are reflective, down-tempo tracks from Angelique Kidjo, Feist, and many more. As always, the collection boasts a raft of exclusive remixes. See more Sunday Music CDs

A truly pleasant listening experience. All the CD's in the Sunday Music series are a thoughtful combination of fresh new artists and familiar musicians that are known and loved. It truly is a great gift for anyone!
Often when I hear this kind of music my first thought is & amp amp amp quot What wonderful background music.& amp amp amp quot This can still be true with Volume 3, yet another beautiful Sunday Music mix, but since uploading it on my iPod I've discovered a new way to listen to these tracks that allows the songs to jump out and become a welcomed mainstage listening to my ears. Goldfrapp is happy genius, Katie Herzig is coaxingly mesmerizing, The Swell Season is pure heart, and Haden/Metheny's Cinema Paradiso is delicately heart-wrenching. The tracks on this unassuming collection are chosen with care and together, when given proper attention, achieve a masterful presentation and catharsis of emotion I would gladly recommend to anyone. My favorite Sunday Music thus far.
I just got Sunday Music 1 last week and saw that 3 had come out and grabbed it. This series is rad. All the bands are pretty indie, and some of them I haven't heard of. Favorite song is A Sunday Smile by Beirut, and I've never even heard of them. Thank you Sunday Music for making this music known!
We like every song on SundayMusic 3 and wish that the Sunday Music series would be continued. This is a delightful compilation of musicians we were not previously familiar with; a great accompaniment to dinner, morning exercise or conversational entertaining. Favorites include Happiness by Goldfrapp, Wish You Well by Katie Herzig, Falling in Love At a Coffee Shop by Landon Figg and A Sunday Smile by Beirut. You've be glad you picked this CD up; a winner from start to finish.
I received a B&N gift card for Christmas and on a whim, decided to purchase this CD. Afterall, it was no real out-of-pocket expense for me if the disc turned out to be totally sucky. I didn't wait till SUNDAY MORNING to listen to it, either. Needless to say, I've been listening to it over and over, day after day, going to each artist's YOUTUBE/FACEBOOK/WEBSITE links etc. I'm hooked and anyone within earshot asks me, "What album is that and where can I get one?" I highly recommend this CD to anyone who appreciates an eclectic blend of thoughtful, inspiring, melodic, hummable, singable and often times haunting songs. DEFINITELY A MUST FOR EVERY COLLECTION~
Good way to hear music from artists that typically aren't played on the radio and certainly aren't on MTV. LOL
