Overview

The New York Times bestselling author of the Driven series turns up the heat when a sexy bet turns into so much more....

Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart, has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother’s mistakes. Hunter’s most recent screwup could land Hawke in jail and risk the band’s future. Hawke agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge’s good graces—and a bet with his bandmate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing on the cake.

Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs—even if their attraction runs deeper than simple lust.

Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness, he’ll stop at nothing to take advantage....

Two coeds exit the bathroom across the foyer from me, both way overdressed for students attending a lecture, and one is applying lipstick while the other giggles uncontrollably. They walk past me and I hear hushed comments about how they "just had to see for themselves" if he's as hot in person and "damn security for kicking them out" before they push through the doors I've just entered

I don't normally read books where the hero is a rock star. However, K. Bromberg is an automatic 1-click for me. When I started the book I wasn't sure how I could get invested in a rock star lead singer that normally had a bunch of groupies. Hawkin Play proved me wrong as we learned about the tragedy in his life and the weight of responsibility that he carries on his shoulders. Lots of twists and turns with the added drama of twin brothers thrown in (it's not what you think). The electricity between Quinlan Westin and Hawkin is immediate. Very steamy with some comic relief thrown in from secondary characters like the Bent band members and Colton Donavan, Quinlan's brother from the original Driven trilogy. This book held my attention and I ended up staying up until 2AM to finish it.

Good love story .. love triumphs.. everyone has problems in their life that weigh them down but good story. Love this author. Every book is different and should be but l kind of missed the intense scenes from past stories, but again not a dissapointment.

Hawkin Play is a hot alpha rock star that is loyal to a fault. He is always bailing out his twin brother and this time his choice is jail or teach a class at a community college. Enter Quinlan Westin, a Teacher Assistant that is assigned to help him. Being the player he is Hawkin takes a bet from his bandmates that he will bed the sexy Teacher Assistant, or if he loses, he will join the club of men that have a certain tattoo on their wrist. Hawkin has no intention of joining that club, but Quinlan Westin is not one of his groupies either. She has a cocky brother (Colton Donavan) and is used to being around players. This book has it all, chemistry, witty banter, and a great storyline that will keep you turning pages. Kristy Bromberg has written many great books and this one is no exception. Every time I open one of her books, I am amazed at the talent this woman has. She pulls you into the story and using her "Mad Writing Skills" and makes you feel every emotion her characters are going through. This is a must read. I highly recommend this book.

Kristy is the only author whose books I will read sight unseen. Sweet Ache is such an incredible story and Hawke and Quin are my 2nd favorite couple. As I was reading this, I could see it playing out in my, like a movie. She's THAT good with her words. I am, and always will be, a fan of Kristy's.

K Bromberg yet again, Rocked another book. A hot Rocker boy you can not go wrong. Loved the story of Quin and Hawk. I also like that the over protective brother Colton and Riley make a few apperances in the book. Keep Writing because I will keep reading your books!!!!!

I had pretty high hopes for Sweet Ache. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work for me. (I am CLEARLY in the minority, too, so take my thoughts lightly.) It was still a good read overall, but it didn’t strike the chord with me that I hoped it would. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve only read one of the other books in the series, so I didn’t have a real connection with the characters, but it left me wanting more. I liked both of the characters. Hawkin and Quinlan were both great in their own right. There was no denying there was something between them, but the flipping between hot and cold left me frustrated. I found each of their inner dialogue too long and drawn out. I had a hard time staying interested in the book at times. I did like how they opened up to each other though and the sexy scenes were fantastic. When it was all said and done, I found myself fairly invested in the story and happy with how everything wrapped up. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I knew going on that this book was going to be amazing just because of the author, but I was absolutely shocked when it exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. I couldn't stop reading it and yet didn't want it to end. Hawkin and Quin's story tugs on all the right emotions and makes you just want to keep going back for more. The bad boy rocker and the good girl student sure do give the readers lessons in finding the one whether your looking or not. I just hope that their story isn't over yet.

I enjoyed the story very much. I read it over a weekend, and had to find out how it ends. I hate to admit that I really didn't expect this story to be this good, and boy was I wrong. Sometimes in a series, the storylines get boing and loses something along the way. I love the Driven series, and so glad I got hooked.

This is Quinlan (Colton's sister) and rock star Hawkin Play's story. Quin is tired of men that treat her like a doormat, when she should stand up for herself and what she believes in. And when she does, who is there but the one and only Hawkin Play, lead singer of the rock band Bent. The chemistry between them is off the charts and when she tries to fight it, it seems her body has other ideas, ideas including Hawke. While Hawke is the playboy everyone knows he is, he can't fight the pull he feels towards Quin. But will his past keep them apart? And what about his twin brother, Hunter, who is always trying to hurt Hawke any way he can. With the rest of the band mates, can Hawke do what is right and move past the guilt of his past? Or will the guilt eat at him until there is nothing left? I loved this story and my heart broke for Hawke and Hunter, which made me want to hug Hawke and slap Hunter. Another great addition to the Driven Series. Can't wait for Hard Beat (Tanner's story) coming November 2015.

I remember not liking, then liking Colton's sister Quinlan when we first met her in the earlier books in this series. But I really got to like her in this one. And then there was Hawkin Play. A rock star, and I do love a good rock star romance. Hawkin had some baggage he was pulling along, but something about Quinlan kept him interested and fighting for a chance. I loved his sweet tooth, and how it played into the story. I have to say that at times I felt Quinlan might have given in sooner than I would have, but yeah, that's probably why I'm still single. So many sexy parts in this one, parts that I was listening to before I had to go into work, and other times I didn't want to get out of the car to stop listening because of how things were going. Once again another great story from this author. I was lucky enough to get selected to be in the author's audio review group, and so I have the next book in the series to listen to after my next two audiobooks that I'm required to listen to and review for tours. But I can't wait!

I didn't think it possible that the more I read K. Bromberg's books, the more I fall in love with the characters and her writing style, but it is! Hawkins is a rough rocker with a totally crappy past. Due to that past, he doesn't let anyone or anything get too close. Quinlan is on her last stint in college working on her final thesis, when she's asked to be a TA to a lecture course for a 3 week extension to her paper...and she reluctantly agrees. She guards her heart due to the constant heartbreak from her bad boy choices. Hawkes and Quin's first meeting was full of fire. And a bet is placed! This story is touching, sexy, erotic, romantic, heartbreaking, funny, liberating, and so much more. The character development is amazing. Who doesn't love a sexy rock star!!! Sweet Ache is truly a gem & totally addictive! Love it and looking forward to Hard Beat!

(3.5 STARS) This time around we get Quinlan and Hawkin’s story. Quinlan is Colton’s sister and Hawk is the lead singer of the band Bent. One decision to protect his family will plant Hawk into Q’s life. I liked the story line, Hawkin was definitely a complex character with a ton of baggage and together they sizzled but I just wanted something more between them. Even the epilogue left me disappointed. I liked the book but compared to the rest of the books in the series Sweet Ache was just OK.

Loved this book. I was a little worried after reading Haddie and Becks story being I didn't like that one at all. But Ms Bromberg has returned to her greatness. The chemistry between Hawkin and Quinlan was off the charts. Nice nid to the thoghtlees series Ms Bromberg. Never can have to much Kellan and the D bags. Only minus four me was there was a slight miss with the ending. Don't want to give away spoilers but Quinlan has a devoted family and not a mention of them and what they thought about that ending. Other than that great story.

4.5 star Before reading this story please read the below books first Driven (Driven, #1) Fueled (Driven #2) Crashed (Driven, #3) Raced (Driven #4) Slow Burn (Driven, #6) This is Quinlan and Hawkin’s story. Hawkin is a bad boy or is he? When Hawkin takes the fall for his brother he has to teach a class but when he meets Quinlan the sparks fly. Can these two stop sparring long enough to get together? When Hawkins runs hot and cold will Quinlan decide that enough is enough and move on? Or will she end up the target of another person’s crazy jealousy? Can she ever get over the betrayal or will it be the end of what should have been a perfect beginning? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.
