To be perfectly honest, I wasn't completely Taken with this book until about 75% through. Up until that point, it was a good, but nothing outstanding, book - a perfect 3-star book. However, Charlotte Abel gave me a stunning ending to the book, that was completely unexpected. For this reason, it got bumped up to a 4-star! The story itself is still moving along - Josh, Channie, and Hunter are still trying to get things done in their own ways. Money is still gambling, and Prudence is going slightly crazier every time we meet her. I think the thing for me is that Channie and Josh, two brilliant characters, just spent so much time doing anything apart from what they were supposed to that it got me a bit annoyed. Also, I KNOW they are young, I realise that, honest I do, but the endless squabbles and bickering interspersed with declarations of love and a golden heart-bond got a bit much for me. I very nearly gave up with this book/trilogy because of it. Instead, I carried on, and because of that ending, I'm really glad that I did. Put it this way, I went from not wanting to read anymore, to one-clicking Finding Valor, the final book, simply because I wasn't prepared to leave the story how it ended in Taken. Even with my pickiness, this book is extremely well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

I began with with the first book in the series (which I got free on my son's Kindle) and I paid for the second book when I got my Nook from my mom. I love this series so far. It is better than many of the YA series I have read. Take a chance!
