A True Page Turner! This is a powerful book. It is well written and I fell in love with the Characters who seemed so real. One of my favorite quotes from the book is: "Just two days ago she had taken her life for granted. Taken God for granted, that He listened to what few prayers she sent His way. She hadn't seriously needed Him all that much. She saw that now. And now she needed Him like never before. Her heart hammered in her rib cage. This was it. This had to be it. She was going to die." This is the first book in a new series. I can't wait to read the next book.

WOW, what a roller coaster of a story!! I think there's two pages with no action in them, but the story pulls you in IMMEDIATELY and you don't really catch your breath until the VERY end. Hadley is an artist and taking care of her neighbor's cat when her day gets interrupted. With his dying breath, her father and only parent, urges her to run and trust NO ONE before he dies from a gunshot wound. She is horrified and the remainder of the book is filled with assassins trying to kill Hadley and anyone who tries to help her! It really felt like I was reading a Jason Bourne story except this one was so much better! Hadley knows Krav Maga (which is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-life situations, together with its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks), had to look that up, and her father taught her how to shoot. However, never knowing her dad was a spy and believing everything he told her is hard to accept after she watches him die and commences running the whole time. Then Hadley runs into Cooper, who has one regret from his past that has him wanting to prove he can save her from these killers. Cooper is a former Green Beret and outdoor survival expert who helps Hadley hide in the wilderness. "Yes, her father had been prepared for her to need to change her identity and disappear. Hadley still couldn't believe it. And yet at the same time, the letter had said that he expected her to follow her dreams. The two goals were diametrically opposed." Goddard has proven once again she knows how to give page turners that can be read in one sitting (I did this in two sittings) with plenty of clean action where you're THERE with the characters wondering how they're going to get out of THIS situation! This new series is not to be missed and don't forget her Dear Reader part at the end where she shares what inspired the story :) *Thanks to the author for the review copy I received. The comments expressed are my own*

Can I give this more than 5 stars? Really, this book is that good. I finished it last night, and I still haven't caught my breath! I believe that God puts the people we need into our lives at the right times, and Ms Goddard would probably agree that Cooper was the person that Hadley needed in her desperate efforts to stay alive. The father she thought she knew tells her in his dying words that he is a CIA agent who was shot by someone who will try to eliminate her as well. He gives her a pack full of money and a fake passport and tells her to leave and trust no one. From the moment she leaves, the assassin is on her trail. Cooper is a very capable former Green Beret who now has a business training people survival techniques in a very remote area in Oregon. Hadley thinks she can hide in the remote, almost off the grid village where Cooper has his business. She is wrong, and is attacked in the wilderness by the assassin. Cooper spots the fight, jumps in, and this assassin dies in a fall, but not before he tells them that he will be replaced by another assassin if he fails. From here on out, Hadley and Cooper are on the run, trying to figure out who wants her dead, and how to stop him or her. I loved the Hadley and Cooper. Ms Goddard has nailed character development as a writer. Their slowly recognized attraction for each other was developed naturally. The strength of their characters was also developed naturally. These are people you'd like to meet and certainly have as a friend you can trust. This is the first book of the Wilderness, Inc. series, and I can hardly wait to start the next one today.

The first book in Elizabeth Goddard’s Wilderness, Inc. series left me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails. Just when I thought I could take a breath, the action and suspense kicked right back in at full forces. No easing into anything in this story. When Hadley Mason learns her father lied to her and her life is now in danger, she does the first thing that comes to her mind. She runs. While danger is on her heels, she comes across the path of Cooper Wilde, a wilderness expert in Oregon’s Rogue River Wilderness. As Hadley and Cooper fight for their lives, they also fight to come to terms with the doubts that plague them. Can Hadley trust anyone again knowing her father, the person she trusted the most, lied to her? Will Cooper escape the grasp of the perceived mistakes of his past to embrace the possibility of a full and rewarding future? Goddard captures both the beauty and the danger of the Oregon Coast terrain beautifully. It’s been twenty-plus years since I’ve visited but I could see the cliffs, hear the ocean, and feel the danger as I embarked on this wild ride with Hadley and Cooper. Target for Murder is an exciting, enjoyable thrill ride full of twists and turns, and I’m already looking forward to the next book!!

Targeted for Murder was truly action packed from the very first page! The author dropped the reader right into the danger at the beginning and kept the main characters running for their lives time and again throughout the book. Hadley faced challenges that she never imagined would be part of her life. I liked that although she had some self-defense skills, she really did not understand how to survive on her own, or outwit the men who were trying to kill her. She also had some understandable trust issues. Cooper was an interesting character. He definitely knew how to survive in the wild, had excellent fighting skills, and experience from military service. However, the guilt he carried caused him no small amount of trouble as he tried to look forward and anticipate what needed to be done to help Hadley survive. This was an exciting story and a great kick off to a new series. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Buckle up and hang on because this book takes you on a wild ride from the get go! From the first page to the last, you are on the run with the main characters! This is, most definitely, a great suspense book from Elizabeth Goddard! I'm so excited about this new series and already, can't wait for the next book. Hadley Mason's life is fairly routine until one day she opens her apartment door and there is her father, dying from a gunshot wound in her dining room! He suddenly tells her he's really a CIA agent (oops, he's been hiding this from her all her life!) and someone has put a contract out on him AND Hadley! Try to wrap your head around that! I sure couldn't! Of course Hadley wants to save her father but he knows he's going to die and he just wants her to be safe so with his dying breath he tells her how that's going to happen! I can't even comprehend how tough that would be! In an instant, your life is completely shattered. She goes on the run, of course, and assassins are chasing her. What would you do? I found myself asking this question through the whole book. Fortunately, Hadley runs across a wilderness survival guy named Cooper and together, they evade the assassins. This book is a whole lotta fun to read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved Cooper and his back story (aka, family) was fantastic! He's a great guy! /you need to read this book!

Goodness gracious – I was a nervous wreck while reading this wondering who was after Hadley! I loved the non-stop action and danger that puts you at the edge of your seat. There is no putting this book down. Once you start that first page you are in for a ride! Hadley has the shock of her life and now can’t be in one place for a second unless she wants to end up 6 feet under. Cooper is the perfect wilderness expert who stumbles upon Hadley. Ms. Goddard writes with such engaging attention to detail that it feels like you are in a movie. (Think Bourne series – heart thumping suspense) She leaves you knowing there is danger coming but no clue as to what or when it will be. I loved the characters written with flaws that endear you to them. The romance was sweet and not overdone in this story – it was believable and swoon worthy when it happened! This author is now on my must read list. I highly recommend for a nail biting exciting read!

A heart pounding suspense novel! Hadley’s world was turned upside down from the very beginning and I wanted to see her get out of trouble and find safety. No one should have to deal with the things she was facing. I think that it would have been nice if there were a little more information about Hadley and how her father could have kept such a huge secret from her. Cooper has more of a background developed and slowly presented than Hadley does. Because of that I was pulling for him to work through his personal issues and move on with his life. The danger and action scenes were great. There was plenty of detail and excitement that kept me turning the pages. I received a free copy of this book from the author. A fast paced action story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Once I started reading Targeted for Murder, I couldn't put the book down. Hadley is shocked to find her father has a secret past and now, he is dying and has specific instructions for her. Hadley is supposed to attend the showing of her artwork, but, now, life is completely changed and she is on the run from assassins. Cooper, a former Green Beret, sees Hadley in distress and decides to help her. Who is trying to kill her and will they succeed? One terrifying moment after another, all the way through the story. Descriptions and details in the story made me feel like I was right there with Hadley and Cooper. Great story. I look forward to reading more by Elizabeth Goddard. I received a copy of this story from the author and this is my personal, honest opinion.

This is one of those stories that needs to come with a warning not to start it unless you can read it in one setting. This author certainly knows how to write a mystery that takes the reader on a roller coaster ride and keeps you reading to see what could possibly happen next. The story follows the main character Hadley as she is on the run for her life and has no idea who she can trust and who she can't. This author is one of my favorite writers of Christian suspense, and this book is one of the reasons why. This is the first book in the Wilderness, Inc. series and I can hardly wait for the next book in the series. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Disappear. Trust No One. With her father’s dying words ringing in her ears, Hadley Mason is plunged into a world of assassins intent on fulfilling a contract to kill. Cooper Wilde spots her being attacked while she’s on the run and the race is on!! Can they escape an unknown killer who’s always a step ahead? What a wild & crazy ride! I have to agree with the author when she says; “When I finished writing the last line, I felt like I had just stepped off Space Mountain at Disney World” because I felt like someone kept hitting the replay button! Just when I thought that both Hadley and Cooper were safe & I could breathe again, the assassin was hot on their tail! I HAD to read this in one sitting because I simply couldn’t let the characters hang on until I could get back to them. My heart was pounding, my breath was coming in shallow gasps, my eyes were dilated, and I had a white knuckle grip on the pages! As for the characters; both are strong, trained, and determined to stay alive, annul the contract on Hadley’s head, and bring the killer to justice—all before it’s too late! A truly suspenseful, riveting, sprinkled-with-faith and of course a little romance in the mix story. On a side note; I love this authors books, each successive one becomes my favorite of hers! A great start to a new series & I can’t wait until the next one! *I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review which I have provided here. Thank you Beth for a wild ride that I’m still trying to come down off of!*

Wow! Elizabeth Goddard has done it again! She has a new series and the first book, Targeted for Murder, is an action packed, edge of your seat suspense that will keep you turning the pages until the end. After closing the book I still couldn't get the characters off my mind. Everyone thinks that when push comes to shove they can take care of themselves and so did Hadley Mason, but soon she realizes how inept she truly was. Facing mortality she makes a choice and hopes it's the correct one. I absolutely loved this story, setting and characters. I have been reading Elizabeth Goddard's books for many years now. She has a talent of weaving words together that bring the story to life for me. This book was no different. When I read the blurb I immediately knew this was a book I wanted to read, of course I wasn't prepared for how powerful this story was going to be. The cover leads the reader to see the beauty, yet the danger contained within. From the first page I was immediately drawn in and saw that this would be a fast paced story. Hadley is a character that I was immediately drawn to. She is going about her ever day life when tragedy suddenly bursts in. She's an artist and looks for the beauty in things, but nothing is beautiful about this. She is first in shock, then fear sets in and soon she is literally running for her life. The one person she looks to for guidance is no longer there for her, but has left her what she needs to survive this ordeal or so she thinks. The most important thing pressed upon her is to trust no one! And the adventure begins.... Cooper Wilde opened Wilderness, Inc. in Gideon, Orgegon with the purpose of teaching people how to not only protect themselves, but also survival skills if ever necessary. While guiding a tour from Rogue Valley he hears a scream and sees what appears to be a man pursuing a young woman with a gun. His sixth sense, which was honned while in the Green Berets, and he found himself rushing down the mountain terrain in hopes he wouldn't be too late. Arriving in time to see the woman's neck in her attackers clutches he engaged the man in hand to hand combat. His military training kicked in and suddenly realized he was in a fight to the death with a trained assassin. This is a story I would recommend to anyone who loves suspense, but it also has elements of faith, trust and a hint of romance. **I received this book from the author for a honest review without bias or outside influence as stated above.
