One year after her successful trip across Glacier National Park with Howard Eaton, chronicled in Through Glacier Park, mystery novelist Mary Roberts Rinehart was back in the saddle, heading into the rugged Western portion of the park with her family and ready for more adventure. Rinehart's humor and enthusiasm about her camping adventure through the Rocky Mountains and Cascades are still fresh for a modern audience.

About the Author

Mary Roberts Rinehart(August 12, 1876– September 22, 1958) was an American writer who has frequently been called the American Agatha Christie. Wildly popular in the 1910s and 1920s, her mystery novels are still read and referenced in the twenty-first century. Also widely traveled in the West, she toured Glacier National Park with Howard Eaton in 1915, when it was newly minted. Her travelogues on Glacier helped popularize the parks and offer a glimpse into an earlier time that is still appealing today.

Rory Hudson x Maine Blanche. ((Book characters))
Rory stared out at the water. "Thats more water than ive ever seen!" She says in awe. Being with Maine has really made her open up more. She wouldnt have said so many things if not for him.
"Theres alot more out there as well." Maine smiles brightly, laying toasters out on the sand.
"You brought your toasters? Again?" Rory laughs. She brushes the red hair from her face.
"Of course. Its the special collection i told you about." He smiles and steps back while taking in the view of the antique toasters.
"So we are only going to watch toaters?" Rory asks.
"Of course not. We can also sit next to them and hug them. Toasters are friends, not food." He says seriously.
"Years of reaping have really messed with you, huh?" Rory tousles his hair.
"I guess." Maine shrugs. "So, as Anthony DiNozzo senior would say, wnna make cookies?"
Rory's expresion changes from happy to enraged in a moment. "Was that a fat joke?!" She kicks him in the gut, sending him flying into a sand dune. Her ruby schythe appears in her hands and she presses it against his neck.
"No! I would never. And i mea never call you fat." He says. Maine pushes her scythe away carefully. "Making cookies would mean something like this." He smiles and pulls her close. He presses his lips against hers gently.
