Overview

Fancy Holleday has more nerve than the average cardsharp. No man can resist her smoky voice and violet eyes—and that includes the federal tinstar, Cord Rawlins.

Cord may have tracked her all the way to Texas to recover the U.S. minting plates that she stole, but the Nevada penitentiary is a long ride north, giving her plenty of time to charm, seduce, or just plain outsmart the handsome Texas lawman.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Cord Rawlins is sworn to bring renegades to justice—including the brazen lady train robber who turned the tables on him near Carson City.

Tracking Fancy down is Cord's job, but resisting her persistent persuasions is a matter of personal honor. With Fancy's life in his hands, Cord begins to wonder if his clever prisoner is really as shameless as she pretends. Could her wicked smile be hiding a desperate secret—one that can steal his heart?

This is the first of a series, but the second book I've read by Ms. DeWolfe. I found out it's okay to read them out of order. :-) In any event, I will now begin reading book 3 because I can't get enough of this author's stories. She writes so well, the dialogue and thought process of the heroine (Fancy) and the hero (Cord) and even the villain (Diego) are so riveting that you think you're right there in the story listening or watching them. The action was exciting and suspenseful, and the romance was oooh-la-la...not to mention that it is an historical western! What more could a reader ask for? I love this author's stories. They are terrific.

this book was a very romantic and adventerous and is my fav book. texas wildcat and texas lover are books with the same main characters (rawlins bros), and each of the three books follows them as they fall in love.

Made me upset my husband isn't more like cord...sigh. Oh well. I still love him. But that stormy sex scene would be nice.

I have dreamed of finding this man (Cord) all my life!! Where is he? Fancy is the evil alter-ego of Elizabeth Taylor...until Cord transforms her of course. I enjoyed this story very much. AND I only saw one or two editing errors...incredible job! Going to get the next book in the series right now.

I've suffered through 50 pages of shallow uninspired dialogue. I can hear John Wayne and Mae West carrying on this dialogue about being 'as nervous as a cat on a porch full of rockers'. Every trite Westernism send to be brought into play
