This is a true story about a South Pacific sailing, scuba diving and island exploring expedition. The sailing yacht Endurance, her captain and crew departed Port Vila, Vanuata (New Hebrides) May of 1984 and sailed among the islands of the Coral Sea. We experienced the beautiful coral reefs, had encounters with sharks, met the native people and learned about their culture. There was a shipwreck and even a near mutiny.

About the Author

John S. Pritchett was born in Gainesville, Florida, 1950.
In 1965, living in Cocoa Beach, Florida, he learned to surf and went on to frequent many popular surf spots along Florida’s east coast.

Searching for larger waves, John moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1974.

In Honolulu, he worked in the advertising industry as an Art Director and later became a prominent illustrator and editorial cartoonist. He has received awards for his cartoons and illustrations from The United Nations Correspondents Association, Best of the West, and The Society of Professional Journalists.
