I can't say that these books are getting better they are just the best! Each installment drops us in the lives of the characters , who become living, breathing people that you can imagine living out there in the world. To have so many characters in one series who are totally believable that they become real the moment you start to read is incredible. Since Rhage is my favorite next to V or maybe Z ok they are all favorites , JR honored Mary & Rhages love story with this book you dont want to miss it!

I really loved this book! I mean, yes, there is all of Ward's usual product placement, (she never met a brand she could not put in a paragraph...) and her use of slang I can not imagine 400 year old vampires using. However, she is not using the texting abbreviations as much and I am grateful for that because, you know, the whole idea of a 400 year old man thinking to himself in text-speak and using words like outtie when he says he is leaving never sat right with me.
Overall, I love that we are getting to revisit characters from previous books. Too many times in a series once the character has a HEA it is as if they drop off the face of the earth. We get to see not only Mary and Rhage but insights into V and Jane and Assail, who I always liked, gets more attention. In typical Ward fashion, new characters are introduced that may play out in books yet to come and some questions are answered. Whether those questions are answered in a future BDB novel or in the spinoff series remain to be seen but I can not wait.
A very good book that I will definitely read again.

I am happy to say that I knew when I finally gave my 1st five star rating it would be with this author in this series. Thank you J.R. for completing Rhage and Mary. Something always felt off with them, something missing. No longer. You knocked it out of the park. Now you just need to wrap up Tohr and Phury. That something special is missing in their stories. Cormia and Autumn are great for them but that connection? Maybe it's a lack in my comprehension but I'm just not feeling it with those two unfinished couples. I demand you fix it Ward as only you can. Oh! And leaving us hangin about Xcor and Jo? Mean. Just meeeeann! Love this series so much and the writing style is the best. Don't ever change a thing. It's perfect.

I absolutly, loved it. I really need another fix NOW! Im addicted, badly. Out if all the books i read, and i read usually at least 1 per day or day 1/2. This is one of my favorite series. Please dont stop writting! Thanks so much for using your creative mind to entertain us all.

Rhage is one of my all time favorite Brothers. I had very high expectations for this book, and the Warden has most definitely passed them faster than a purple GTO! The book was witty, funny, sexy, and had me hooked from page 1. Already, I cannot wait for the next installment!

I was getting my hair done reading Anita Blake, someone asked me if I read the Brotherhood series and I said I never heard of it. That was maybe 10 years ago. From time to time ? I reread the series. It never gets old and the plot is always great. I started from the very 1st book

In this reader's very humble opinion there is no other author of paranormal genre equal to JR Ward! Her characters you love her stories you find compelling.
If you are new to the Black Dagger Brotherhood there are 13 other wonderful stories to read. If you are a fan don't miss this one. Rhage and Mary's story you don't want to miss and there are a lot of surprises in store for you!

Wow wow wow, J.R. has done it a gin put out the perfect book, sometimes I think she can't get any better and BOOM she does, Rhage mad me laugh so hard with his crazy self. So many great things happened in this book what a blessing, a few scary moments but that's what makes her such a great author she keeps u entertained. I wanna know more about Asail can't wait for that. Please write quick, your the best author ever......

Is Marcus gonna pinch hit for the Scribe Virgin? Assail gonna get his stuff together and grab up Marisol? Xcor...where u at? V and Dr Jane...everything okay? Hey Manny.....surprise!! Hurry up J. R. J. R. Ward does another outstanding job! I truly love the way she tells the story with so much attention to detail. She makes you feel like you are right there with the characters; going through all that is happening. After reading this Amazing book, I have to say it is one of my 5 top stories in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
I am so happy that J. R. Ward created the story around Rhage, and Mary. It was such a heart warming adventure. There are so many emotions I went through.....laughing, crying, on the edge of my seat (trying to anticipate what will happen next). I found it difficult to put the book down, always saying to myself....one more chapter and then another and so on. I honestly have to say that Mary is a strong willed person. She really shows what she had to offer as Rhage's shellan. She definately would be a fantastic role model. Who would not look up to her abilities after reading the story? Rhage is a terrific guy....so strong and fearless, handsome, strong willed, caring, and to top it off: he has a dragon tatoo that changes into a beast: which Mary is the only one that can tame him. Into their lives Bitty (a young poor girl who is an orphan) arrives at Safe Place. She just lost her parents and has no place to go or any family to turn to. She is all alone and scared. Mary tries to help Bitty (since she works at Safe Plzce) to through this tough time. Can Mary break through to the girl? What's in store for this young girl? I don't want to give too much away but, you have to read the book. I promise you will not be dissapointed.

This is one of the best of the BDB novels. Rich, deep, emotional, loving and wonderful. Simply a fabulous novel. Rhage and Mary seem so real. What better compliment can I say....I would love to meet them. I loved this book!

5 Stars!! Love, love, love The Beast, and Rhage. Another amazing story of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, by J.R. Ward. Rhage is one of my favorite brothers, so I was more than happy to have the opportunity to read more about Mary and Rhage, aka Hollywood, and the Beast. After I preordered The Beast, I decided to go back and read the entire series again, and I fell in love with everyone in this series all over again. So happy that JR ward is continuing to write about the Brotherhood couples, adding new story lines as she goes, but continuing with the original storylines.
J.R. Ward is a truly great story teller. She excels at intertwining other new and old stories within the main story, keeping you reading, one book after another. Including her new spin-off series, which I am also reading!! 5 Stars!!

Not enough action and a somewhat bland story line. It’s a side story to the one that we’re all really waiting to hear more about.
