Nice devotional journal First of all let me say that the journal itself is very stunning. This would make a nice addition to someone's Bible reading and devotion. It has pages to color, which I love doing, and it has questions to ponder and answer. There are 31 sections, so it can be spread out over the course of the year. I like it and recommend it as an “additional” devotional. It's targeted for teens, but I think it is worded in a way that adults could get a lot from it as well. (I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.)

The Devoted Life: A creative devotional Journal This beautiful journal by Marjorie Jackson really caught my attention. It has 31 sections covering different topics including Joy, The Power of the Tongue, Standing Up for What’s Right, Fearless, True Beauty and more. Each day begins with thoughts on the subject, Scripture for going deeper, Journal prompts and Bible verse art. At the back there are bordered, blank pages for creative art. I have read through much of the thoughts expressed in the book. The target age is teens and young adults. I am far from a teen or young adult, well into the senior adult age, but the book has challenged me to do something different as I use this journal this year andI seek to live fully devoted to Christ. The book has 31 topics but it does not have to be done all in one day but stretched our even for a week. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Devoted Life by Marjorie Jackson I am very pleased with this creative devotional journal. The introduction is a very important part and not to be skipped. Not only does it explain how to use the journal, but it clearly presents the importance of a relationship with Jesus. There are a number of different sections or topics. Each section has a creative introduction page so get out those colored pencils. The intro is followed by the devotion itself, with focus on a particular scripture. Then there are scriptures to help you dig deeper. After the scripture comes five short journaling prompts. The section ends with another creative page with the main scripture. All this beautifully bound in an easy to hold book providing opportunity to read, write, pray, reflect and meditate on scripture. There are 31 topics in this book so you can complete it in a month, but I prefer to stretch it out over several days or a week. The last page of each section with the focus verse is great for reflecting as you color or simply trace the words. I am excited to look closer at the section Being Teachable. I think you can go through the book in order or make a topic selection. Either way, I recommend this book highly. It is categorized as young adult nonfiction, but I can see it being a great resource for individuals or small groups regardless of their age or stage of Christian growth. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This is such a beautiful gift option for the teen girls or women in your life. It is targeted for teens, but I personally loved it. It is slim and easy to handle and the cover is embossed imitation leather that is pleasing to the eye. Each section has a devotion, scriptures, questions to make you think with space to write your thoughts, and then coloring pages of scriptures. It is well thought out and a very enjoyable way to spend time with God. I was blessed to receive a complimentary copy from Barbour Publishing. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

"The Devoted Life" is targeted for young adults but I am many years past this age group and I am thrilled with this book! It is labeled as a creative journal and there are 208 pages that allow you to explore your own creativity. "The Devoted Life" is divided into 31 sections and the beginning page of each section lists the topic and offers you a page to color. This is followed by a Bible verse that is applicable to the topic and devotional thoughts to add to your worship time. Additional scriptures allow you to go deeper into study and journal prompts help spur your thinking and offer a place to record your own thoughts. The final page of each section is another coloring page and it features the Bible scripture that began the section. This journal concludes with several blank pages that offer you a place to feature your own special verses and create your own special pages. I am very impressed with both the outward appearance and the inward quality of this book. The imitation-leather cover is a beautiful pink color and it is soft enough to allow the journal to be easily written in. This is a wonderful choice for anyone wanting to enhance their worship time and I look forward to using my own copy in the new year ahead. I also believe that "The Devoted Life: A Creative Devotional Journal" will be great for gift-giving also! This book entitled The Devoted Life, a Creative Devotional Journal by Marjorie Jackson, covers a wide range of topics such as prayer, Bible reading, relationships & much more. Anyone of any age can certainly use this every day & as a challenge to really go deeper into prayer & the Bible. Each section contains a study on each subject with scriptures for deeper bible study challenges, journal prompts with question & answer sections. There are many very nice pages to color & reflect on what you've learned. It is a very nice formal with ribbon bookmark. The journal is just the right size with a soft cover. I enjoyed studying & using it. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing & was under no obligation to post a review, however I did find it very helpful in Bible study.

This is a beautiful devotional journal. My teenage daughter loved the beautiful cover & really enjoyed the coloring pages. She loved reading the thought provoking journal prompts & then writing. Her favorite thing though was coloring the beautiful color pages. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing & was under no obligation to post a review.

Described as being for teen girls, “The Devoted Life” works just as well for adult women. This is the first “creative devotional journal” that I have ever explored, and it is very neat! The book itself is slim, which is handy for carrying in a purse or bag, and the imitation leather gives the book a more forgiving binding that allows for coloring and writing inside without too much hassle. Normally I would prefer a spiral-bound setup with this type of interactive book, but the imitation leather really does work quite well here. There is even a pink ribbon bookmark attached to the binding. Each section title appears in hand-drawn bubble letters, along with occasional small illustrations, to color; as such, the text is somewhat difficult to read, but I imagine that it would be easier once the letters are colored. Each devotional consists of a Bible verse followed by a one-page commentary and three Scriptures for further study. There are five journal prompts related to the devotional, and out of these, at least one or two would be good for groups as well as individual reflection. The topics are easy to relate to and bring up common issues that everyone has dealt with at one time or another. Following the prompts, the Bible verse from the beginning of the devotional is drawn out for coloring. At the end of the book there are 9 pages with simple borders to “Create Your Own Hand-Lettered Scripture Art”. Just flipping through the book, it might seem a bit bland, but it lacks color because that’s where the reader’s creativity comes into play! What a fun, meaningful journal-devotional combination! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

"The Devoted Life" by Marjorie Jackson is a very cute devotional. There's a devotional then some journal prompts with questions to answer that go along with the devotional. I really like the coloring pages that are throughout the book. There are 31 devotions. Over a year ago, I enjoyed Devoted: A Girl’s 31-Day Guide to Good Living with a Great God which was written by a then nineteen year-old. You can read my review of it here. I recently received a copy of her The Devoted Life: a creative devotional journal. This might very well be the BEST creative journal I have enjoyed in years. It's a combination of devotions, prayers, free thought and response sections, as well as creative coloring pages. While it's target audience is teen girls, I found it quite enjoyable and would gift it to almost anyone.

'This is a very nice devotional. The entire book is not very long, but what is within its pages makes up for the length. It is very fulfilling, giving the reader pause for reflection. Divided into 31 devotions, each consisting of a scripture verse, a devotion and a few scriptures for going deeper, it also has a section with questions to journal that are relevant to the devotion. Then there are also 2 pages to color. All in all, a quite nice book for a good study and quiet time. I've enjoyed it very much indeed. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Every December I begin to think of what journal/devotional I'll use for the new year. This year I chose The Devoted Life by Marjorie Jackson. I was so excited when I received it. It's a pearl pink color...not a tan color like the picture indicates. It's beautiful! I know this devotional is geared for girls but this year I wanted something a little different. It's divided into 31 sections and each section has a devotional, Scriptures for going deeper and then journal prompts. Journal prompts allow one to write down what is going on in life. This is imitation leather but it's so nice. I love the thin line feel, not bulky at all. At the back of the book are pages with places to color and draw or write whatever on wishes. This is absolutely beautiful! And would make a lovely gift, too. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review*

This beautiful journal is a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed reading each of the 31 sections and the thought-provoking questions at the end of each section challenged me. While this is a journal designed for teenage girls and young women, as a middle age woman I still found this journal useful and inspiring. I’m looking forward to coloring the hand lettered verses between each section and sharing this with my 13-year-old daughter. Please note that the cover is a rose gold metallic and not the metallic gold pictured. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. My opinion is my own.

I'm really enjoying this creative devotional journal by Marjorie Jackson! It has 31 sections which include a devotional, scripture, journaling prompts and illustrations to color or blank pages for you to fill with your own drawings. What a fun way to study God's word and to worship Him. I was given a copy from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

A treasure! Beautifully put together devotional that will be treasured across all ages. The scriptures for going deeper are inspirational and the coloring pages are adorable. The journal prompts really helped me to truly connect and experience that "life is truly good with a God who is truly great". I love that there is a table of contents - as I could match what I need/want first and move on from there. I will probably buy three copies so I can go through over and over again.

The Devoted Life by Marjorie Jackson This book is fabulous! It is like three books in one, a devotional, a journal, and a place to relax while contemplating the scripture while coloring/doodling/drawing. The title says it's a creative devotional journal, which describes it perfectly. The book has 31 sections for you to complete at your leisure - one per day or stretch out each section as long as you care to reflect. Some of the topics include Selfishness, Humility, Living Wisely, Being Teachable, Determining God's Will as the goal of the book is to show us how to live of lives fully devoted to Christ. Each section begins with a coloring page with the sections main idea, followed by the scripture and summary. After you're finished with the reading there are suggested Bible versus offered to dig a bit deeper, followed by journal prompts, and another coloring page. You can see that each section offers you plenty to do to possibly consider each message over time. I find that I enjoy stretching out each section for a week or more to really think about it. Obviously some sections will require more or less thought depending on you! It's such a beautiful book too which gives the reader even more pleasure with a pretty pink leather-like soft cover. This book is marketed to teens and young adults but I am enjoying it as an older adult, it's a fun and interactive way to get your scripture teachings and reflection time. I'm really enjoying this book and highly recommend it! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Marjorie Jackson has compiled a lovely creative coloring journal and topical devotional book in this volume. Beginning with an introductory word about our relationship with Jesus and the gift of salvation, the author encourages the user of this journal to take a journey with her to deepen that relationship and grow spiritually. The book itself is a soft cover of imitation leather and is just over 200 pages--pages that are filled with a variety of ways to be creative in being intentional in one's devotional life. There are 60 hand-drawn scripture verses pictures for coloring as well as a number of blank pages for one's own creative drawings or writings. The book is divided into 30 sections with each section having thoughts from the author, scriptures for going deeper, journal prompts to stimulate the reader's own thoughts regarding the subject of the section, and the coloring pages. Some of the subjects included are The Power of the Tongue, Doing It All Unto Him, and Why Share Your Faith and others that encourage thought about family, identity, and ministry. I like that this devotional journal can be an excellent choice for a gift to encourage a young believer or as a tool for a mature Christian to continue to deepen her relationship with Jesus. I received a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions are my own.

I was overwhelmingly surprised at the quality of this wonderful Devotional for the Teenage market. The list price of $14.99, I thought was more than fair for this well bound lovely devotional. Each section has a reading followed by going deeper scripture reading and then prompts for journaling. There are some fun pages that you can color or add doodles on in between each section. The devotional was engaging and you could go as deep in thought as you wanted to. I thought the set up of the book and the way it was written was not only appealing but very well done. I would highly recommend this devotional for the young ladies in our lives---or the young at heart :) I received a complementary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

What a beautiful journal! The rose-gold colored leather cover lends it to a treasured keepsake. It is topic driven and just the perfect amount to read for inspiration and help. Then there are scriptures to add to the topic to further along your walk in Christ. Next come the discussion type questions to dig deeper and open your heart. Lastly for each little devotional there are a few scripture color pages! Perfectly beautiful for any teenager wanting to grow in her walk with God! This is a great gift idea, too. I loved every part of it. I have a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and am under no obligation to do a review.

The Devoted Life Creative Journal by Marjorie Jackson is delightful. It is marketed and labeled as being for teen girls, but any woman could use it. There are 31 devotions so this is a month of inspiration and encouragement. The book itself is rather small and slender. It would easily slip inside a purse or tote. The cover is a sleek stylish imitation leather and doesn’t look like a young girl. There is an attached pink ribbon bookmark to keep reader’s place marked. At the beginning of each section is the title along with small illustrations to color. The daily devotion consists of scripture followed by one-page commentary and three additional scriptures for in-depth study. There is room to journal any thoughts from the lesson or prayers. This would make a wonderful small group study for older teens or young adult ladies. Actually any ladies’ group would enjoy it. Topics are relevant and timely. Friendship, family, relationships, God, trust, and prayer are just a sampling of the subjects tackled. Lessons are short enough to get finished in a little amount of time but long enough to teach readers. It has plenty of free “create your own” spaces. The coloring and journaling devotional are becoming very popular. After looking at some others, I can honestly say this is one of the better ones. Don’t be misled when you thumb through it. It will look pale and drab. It is just a plain coloring journal. Wait until your creative ideas take over and colors bloom on the pages. It will be a masterpiece to treasure for years to come. I highly recommend this lovely, God glorifying Journal. I have twin granddaughters and look forward to buying each of them a copy when they are a bit older. In fact, I plan on doing it with them. It would be a wonderful group project, gift, or something to buy yourself. I give this a 5 out of 5 stars and hope there are more to come. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, honest ones.

When I received The Devoted Life by Marjorie Jackson I was so excited. With a teenager in the house, I was excited to have her check this journal out. It is full of questions and topics that get you started in a direction of thinking and away you are on a time of growing in the Lord. You can also color as well, which is a great option for my artist daughter. The cover is SO super beautiful and I just LOVE it. It’s broken up in “sections” and there are 31 of them. You could take a week thinking/reflecting through a section or you could do a section a day and repeat it throughout the year, journaling to see how you are growing in that area over the year. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Marjorie Jackson, the author of this book, really tantalizes her youthful readers with her creative designs for journaling. Her attractive Scripture verse drawings entice the reader to grab a pack of colored pencils as he or she uses the design as a tool to memorize the Scripture in the picture. Inside the book are Bible verses with some of Marjorie’s thoughts as well as questions to stimulate responses by the reader. There are pages for the reader’s doodling and drawings of the Scripture to enhance a deeper reading of the Word of God. The Book presentation with a leather-like binding and a ribbon bookmark make it a perfect companion to a Bible on a bedside table. There it can be picked up in the morning for a brief time with God or before bedtime to recap the activity of the day. The Devoted Life would make a thoughtful gift at any season or special occasion. A quote from the author on page 164 states, “As part of the testimony of God’s transforming goodness in our lives, we can choose to be major blessings [rather than agents of pain and rejection] and even lifelong friends to the gals and guys we call family. Forgive quickly, brainstorm ways to show kindness and love daily, and forget the whole stigma that family can’t become the best of friends.” Marjorie, a twenty-one-year-old, speaks well to the younger generations. I am not a devotional reader usually, but I like this one! Each Section of The Devoted Life: A Creative Devotional Journal is just that - a creative journal, a coloring page, Scripture to meditate upon, and prompts to make one reflect on their own relationship with the Lord. This is also a great journal for young girls. The author is young and relates well to the challenges of young people today. I highly recommend this journal for personal use and as a gift. I was given a copy of this book to review by Barbour Publishing.

This is a great devotional for any woman wanting to press deeper into God's word. As a companion to the popular book, this devotional will help you express the thoughts that come to mind as you search the scriptures. Thought provoking prompts encourage you to put ink to those feelings jumping around in your head, a way to remember and grow in your devotional time rather than simply moving on to the next topic. Marjorie Jackson has provided us with a unique tool to grow closer to God, each in the way He individually leads us. Not only a tool for personal growth, it can provide a legacy for generations to follow, focusing on the triumphs and tribulations we experience in our daily lives.
