The Distance Between

A light novel about the war at home and the war overseas, and the impossible space between them. It follows a single U.S. Army unit through a 12-month deployment to eastern Afghanistan, while simultaneously following their families back home on a stateside Army base. The novel has no big battles, no heroic last stands-only the grinding, exhausting work of staying alive, staying married, and staying connected to people who are living in entirely different worlds.
