This is by far THE BEST dream and vision dictionary on the market. The authors very clearly have a desire to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Being very open to the reality that Holy Spirit speaks and has been speaking to us in dreams and vision (Acts 2) while maintaining the written Word of God as the ultimate authority is not an easy rope to walk but Thompson and Beale has done so quite successfully. I love the symbolism dictionary they have included because they have sought to make sure the symbolism definitions they provide are drawn from Scripture. This book is truly groundbreaking in the realm of hermeneutics for the Charismatic church! A must have resource for any serious student of the Word who wants to allow the Scriptures to help him discern symbolism in dreams and visions.
“The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions” is by far the most resourceful and well referenced guide to dream interpretation I have ever come across. I found all 10 chapters to be important and helpful reading. They explain exactly how to receive confirmation of what the Holy Spirit is saying. It has helped to unlock the mysteries of the parables in which God speaks to me in my dreams. It is both scripturally sound and comprehensive, making it a valuable resource. A well referenced tool with solid theological foundations, I found it to be practical, but always to be used with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. “The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions” is an encyclopaedia of knowledge and a handbook for symbolism. It is a reference book I will keep by my bed and a necessity to pack in my suitcase. It also is the perfect gift. This is ground-breaking for the body of Christ.
This ranks among the best books I have seen on interpreting dreams and visions. It’s a comprehensive resource, yet is written clearly so it’s useful as a first book on the subject or an addition to a library. The authors’ main premise is that God is the source of dreams and visions, so the Bible is the most reliable resource for interpreting them. Every section includes biblical examples and insight. Chapters 9 and 10, dealing with principles of interpretation, seem to cover points made in other books plus several more; all of them very relevant and helpful. Three-fourths of the book is dedicated to sample dream and vision interpretations, a metaphor dictionary (one-half of the entire book!) and a name and place dictionary; all valuable resources. Because it’s written by two Australians, you may need to investigate a few terms like boom gate, nappy, pram and torch, but not many. This is a great resource!
