Overview

An ancient Mayan god has risen from millennia of slumber to bring about the prophesied end of the world. Skeletal and reeking of putrefaction, Cizin the Stinking One creeps into his victims’ dreams, bending their minds to his apocalyptic ends, with the United States’ nuclear stockpile as his ultimate target. How do you defend against an enemy that's been dead for over 2500 years? Certainly not with conventional weapons. No, when America confronts an eldritch adversary, it turns to Remo Williams, who must once again put it all on the line in the service of his country.

Remo Williams is The Destroyer, an all-American cop recruited—through highly unorthodox methods—by a secret government law-enforcement organization. Trained in the esoteric martial art of Sinanju by his aged Korean mentor, Chiun, Remo is America's last line of defense against mad scientists, organized crime, ancient undead gods, and anything else that threatens the Constitution. An action-adventure series leavened with social and political satire, the Destroyer novels have been thrilling readers worldwide for decades.

Pretty good Remo tale. The really weird retro-con on Remo's mom kind of upset the flow. Still, it was very sympathetic to the characters; after all, if not for the prophecy, Chuin would have failed and the House would have ended. If Murphy actually wrote it, he's in good voice.
