Written under the pen-name of Schuyler Staunton, this is one of the few adult novels which L. Frank Baum wrote. This is a story of love, intrigue, adventure, and murder, during the Brazilian revolution against the Portuguese installed monarchy at the turn of the 20th Century, and tells of an American youth and his part as a hero in Brazil.
