The Forgotten Texas Statesman is the biography of a man who became a politician, entrepreneur, and Confederate spy. He emigrated from New England and was involved in the annexation of Texas to the United States, became a railroad entrepreneur, and served in the Confederate Torpedo Bureau during the American Civil War.
