I love this book! Every chapter was intense, and I'm glad I read it! It kept me guessing who was behind it all when things didn't add up. Great cliffhanger as well! This book had romance and action! I can't wait for the next book to see what happens! :D

The Ghost Files by Apryl Baker is an unputdownable, spinetingling, terrifying horror thriller that has everything I require in an over the top read…Ghost Whisperer on steroids, a serial killer, a bit of romance, and a young girl that kicks a** and takes names.

The Ghost Files, is super creepy and intense. I couldn’t get enough. I read this within a day. I don’t read many in this genre. I was scrolling through Facebook one day and this was on my feed. I thought this looks interesting, I’ll give it ago. Surprisingly, I read it pretty soon after I purchased. Usually, I don’t get to books till the next year, if I’m lucky.  Mattie is a foster kid, who just so happens to see ghosts. I don’t want to go into detail about the whole thing. Because then it really wouldn’t be a surprise. It really is a brilliant read. Bayker, is really an awesome writer. Sometimes, It was a little too much of the  character backstory. But it didn’t take away anything from the story. I really did love this.  The mystery of it, was very well played out. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I can find out who the killer is, before the book is finished. And I had no idea. I was completely surprised. I loved the characters, the ghosts, just the overall theme. I’m not easily grossed out, but so the descriptions were right on. There are a few ew moments.  Overall, I give this book Five Boundless Stars. I can’t help it was awesome. This is a series, so I can’t wait to see what else happens with Mattie....Lissa

The Ghost Files was engaging right from the beginning. Mattie was a terrific character and had me pulling for her from the get-go. She's very complex and had so much going on inside of her head at any given time. I enjoyed her snarky mouth, especially any time that she was talking with Officer Dan. The story continued to increase in intensity throughout and I was eager to learn more about her gift and how she could harness its power to help others. As I was nearing the end of the book, I started to worry that it was going to leave me hanging and in some ways, it did. All in all, I felt that the conclusion was quite perfect. I am looking forward to getting the rest of the books in this series.

I detest recapping previous book, but seems to be trend with authors. I like how suspenseful the books are and can't wait to read the next book. Seems like sometimes the author has so many ideas and just keeps adding more and more paranormal twists but if she can tie it all up to a fantastic final book who cares that it is far fetched and out there. That is why we need fantasy books?

When I started reading this, I had never read an Apryl Baker story before, so the author was new to me. Well I can honestly say I WILL be back for more! I really like her style of writing and the fact that the book was very well edited. It had a little of everything I love, horror, murder, supernatural, and romance! All the things I like rolled up into one book. Yeah, Maddie is a bit bratty, but anyone who has been in the foster system is going to be defensive/sensitive and she fits the bill perfectly. Anyone who thinks otherwise is pretty naive to the foster system in our country. I cannot wait to read the rest of these books!

WHAT A GREAT FIND! I started this book and thought it was going to be for teens because it was about a 16 year old girl who can see ghosts. But it was a really good book that was well written and I had to find out what was going to happen next in each chapter. I won't tell you the story, but just that I absolutely loved the ending, which was a surprise. You won't be disappointed.

I’m glad that I saved this book for this month. I wanted a book that kept the pages turning with a Halloween theme and this book was just the one. A quick read with nothing too extravagant: a bit detailed a times, some creepiness thrown in and a couple twists that I was not prepared for. That is a recipe for a great paranormal book. Mattie has been seeing dead people for a long time. Her usual reaction is to ignore these ghosts but when she now sees her foster sister who was just alive a few hours ago, dead, taped and bounded with a bullet hole through her head, Mattie cannot ignore this ghost. Her foster mother won’t call the authorities so Mattie takes matters into her own hands which means talking to the ghosts who she feels must be with Sally. It’s a race against time as the images and voices call out to Mattie for help but there is only so much information they can reveal. I feel transformed as I read the book, desperately watching as Mattie’s life crumbles. No lull time here or time for breaks, there seems to be something happening every step of the way, during this crisis. Mattie feels frustrated as to who could help her and who would believe what she has to say. She believes in what she sees and feels she must help them. My emotions are in havoc as things start to deteriorate, I loved this feeling when it all ended. I am ready for book two.
