It was great. If you have a guinea pig, then you will like this book lots. If you are a young kid then this book is good for younger kids too. Believe me I'm a vet, and I use it.

This is the guinea pig book that everyone (well, almost everyone) has been waiting for. Detailed in tips on selecting a guinea pig, housing and feeding, normal and abnormal behaviors and what to watch out for to keep your guinea pig happy, safe and healthy. Since knowing the normal is the key to detecting illness in your pet, the practical information on warning signs to be on the alert for will help both the novice and dedicated guinea pig keeper to know when to go to the veterinarian to seek professional advice. Like other books in this series, the illustrations and check lists take much of the doubt out of knowing how your guinea pig is faring, and avoiding problems BEFORE they become illnesses. I would rate this handbook as my first choice for both guinea pig owners and professionals as a ¿must have¿ on the pet care bookshelf. It is readable and practical, and the many of the quality photos of these fascinating creatures will bring a smile to the face of even the most ardent rodentaphobe.

I got this for my grandkids; they are wanting a pet and thought this would be a good one. It is wonderfully informative, and it is written so that anyone can read it and understand it.
