Meet the Author

Stephen Sweeney was born in Brighton, UK in 1977 to Terry and Emma Sweeney and has spent many years thereafter making up stories about stuff that doesn't exist.

He attended Worth School in West Sussex before studying Environmental Biology at Oxford Brookes University.

He currently lives in London where he works in the City performing various IT related bits and pieces (although he's worse than useless if you ask him to help fix your computer).

When not working he enjoys listening to music, reading, snowboarding (or at least attempting to) and spending time with friends (generally talking nonsense to them in the pub).

His favourite authors include JK Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Philip Pullman, Iain Banks and Stephen King (although he doesn't read too much King any more since he's too scared of finding an old decaying dead woman laying in his bathtub, grinning at him).

I enjoyed the story, found the characters interesting and when it ended I found myself ready for the next chapter. The book could have used some editing, the new author would tell us an action, then spend the next paragraph describing that same action through another participant's POV. This led to a lot of impatient skimming. But that is minor since the story itself is compelling.

Definitly a page clicker! Its a not so simple good vs evil with a hook that caught me in the first chapter and kept me guessing til the end. I suspect a higher level of intrigue will be slowly revealed in the next book. I will admit an awkwardness with the correct usage of the word "whilst" in numerous dialogs, but what do you expect from a book with honor spelled wrong on the cover?! Read the first chapter and you'll see!

I liked it ok, but I am still not sure if I will pay to continue. But its good enough that you should read it yourself and see if you want more. Its lacking something, not sure what. Maybe its that I find all the characters annoying, even the ones your supposed to like. And it does not have alot of originality in the story. But not to be all negative, it had a decent delivery of the plot with some interesting narrative.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got this book. A very compelling storyline that had me wanting more at the end. A few minor spelling errors and some technical issues that I found do bring the reader out of the story occasionally but the reader is consistently drawn back in. Overall a very good read, highly recommended.

Needs better editing and more military realism.

An interesting enough read but leaves me a little cold with the introduction of mega advanced science bordering on fantasy to further the story. Maybe future stories will explain but I won't be reading them.

What more does one want from a book but to enjoy it? Are there areas to critique? Sure. Enough to detract from the overall quality? Nope. So, enjoy!

Enjoyable.

I really had a lot of fun with this book. Space, faster than light travel, all kinds of future tech and space craft and the characters you really grow to care for through the series.

Did not enjoy this at all. Characters all were irritating and not likable. Dialog was amateurish. British slang was nonstop. Will not buy the next book.
