Overview

To prove his innocence, she'll have to believe the impossible.

Officer Kate Murphy's uncle is like a father to her. When he's arrested for murder, she's his only hope.

After a few off-the-record conversations with Luke, an awkwardly attractive forensic technician, Kate knows something doesn't add up. And when a host of politicians and homeless people begin to die all over the Northeast, Kate suspects they're somehow connected to her uncle's case.

To prove the innocence of the man who took her in after her parents were murdered, Kate must make an incredible leap of faith. But she's not prepared for the stunning discovery that calls everything into question.

The Last Hope is a gripping mystery with some sci-fi elements and a dash of romance. If you like mind-bending whodunits, sizzling sex scenes, and tenacious heroines, then you'll love this thrilling police procedural.

Kate Murphy patrol cop's uncle Kenny is accused of murder. His DNA is found at the crime scene. She works to prove he did not commit murder, but the evidence looks bad for him. Kate wants to be a detective, so she asks to work with the team investigating her uncle's case on her own time. This is a page turner to find the truth in this murder. There is a slue of murders of people that have committed sexual assault with DNA left behind.

Voicemail informing her that her uncle has been accused of murder. Today of all days, of which was the anniversary of the murders of her family. He drinks to forget, and doesn’t remember, doesn’t drive a car, doesn’t know person, yet DNA of his found at scene. A good mystery with a touch of sci-fi to it, it will take more than Kate thought, can she go into the unknown to find answer. Different type of mystery, still with the police protocol made an interesting story

I started reading and had difficulty putting this down. It is very engaging and intriguing. I was very surprised with the twists the book took and though I did not read the first book in this series, I really enjoyed reading about Kate and getting to know her and her uncle. After reading the first book in the series I delved straight in to this one and was not disappointed! We have the same female lead character who is trying to get her life on track when she has another blow and finds that her Uncle has been arrested. She has to prove him innocent, she trusts him, she knows him, and she loves him, he’s her family! Another well written book by this author, a great mystery that kept me engaged throughout.
