I bought THE LAST TIME MACHINE thinking it would be just another time travel book, but I quickly discovered it's really about the clash between the moral standards of a man from the Civil War and a woman from the future. Wow! It has everything I wanted in a book! Love, hate, conflict, mystery, suspense, loyalty and betrayal, and all within a truly compelling story. I like my copy so much that I won't take a chance by lending it out.

I read the other review and now I want to get Commander Johnson's other book, THE TREASURE OF DEAD MAN'S CHEST when it comes out in January. I have also read his third novel, A BIGOT'S REDEMPTION, and loved it too.

Get THE LAST TIME MACHINE. I guarantee you'll love it.

I love suspenses, mysteries, thrillers, and action/adventure stories, but I never thought I would find all of these things in one novel that is peopled by characters I love and hate. Commander Johnson's THE LAST TIME MACHINE has it all. Every character wants something and will do nearly anything to get it. Air Force General Donald Waterhouse travels back in time to Troy to get himself into the history books. Union Captain Daniel Hilton is accidentally snatched to the future and wants to get home to his wife and small child. Jessica Rothman--the inventor of the time machine--wants gold for the circuitry in her combat robots, but she also wants this ancient Civil War Captain to be one of her lovers. General Winfield Scott wants to execute Captain Hilton the next time he sees him, First Lieutenant Brian Alderson wants his arm back, and President Lincoln wants to know where over a million dollars in newly minted gold has gone.

I am so excited about this novel that I would love to tell you the whole story, but that would ruin it for you. I read this wonderful novel in one sitting, and I truly mean it when I said that it should be made into a movie. George Clooney would make a perfect Daniel Hilton.

I am looking forward to the January release of another novel by Commander Johnson. It is titled, THE TREASURE OF DEAD MAN'S CHEST.
