About the Author

Christopher Barshick, Ph.D. is a passionate writer, embarking upon his first novel in the fantasy genre. For nine months out of the year, he's a Chemistry Professor at a small college in Southwestern Virginia where he teaches General Chemistry and Biochemistry Lab to the next generation of scientists and engineers. The Mage of Bed-Stuy was a summer project written while on break. During his 30-year career in industry, he's published extensively in the peer-reviewed scientific literature and has edited a book on inorganic mass spectrometry (ISBN-10:0824702433), his area of expertise. Growing up, Dr. Chris was influenced by such literary icons as Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy, and Douglas Adams. Today, he reads fantasy novels from authors like, V.E. Schwab, Genevieve Cogman, and P. Djèlí Clark. He also enjoys reading graphic novels from DC Comics and frequently attends Comic-Cons.
