The Marissa Condition
James hadn't seen Marissa in over a decade – that was fine with him because it took him nearly that long to get over her. So, when Marissa unexpectedly reached out to James for help with a blackmailer, he was forced to wrestle with his feelings for her while looking for a way to make her problem go away. What James ultimately discovered shocked him and forced him to reconcile his past with the present. This is a tale of desire, hope, and intrigue, played out in the greater Detroit area.

"Okay," I said. "I think I get the picture. But what is he holding over your head to get you to agree to his plan?"

Marissa stood up and took a few steps away from the couch, hugging herself. I took the opportunity to admire the curve of her hips and the roundness of her backside. After a minute, she returned, sat back down on the couch, and faced me. She looked deep into my eyes and put a hand on my upper thigh.

"James," she said softly. "This is where the story gets ugly. I mean really ugly. I'll understand if you choose to walk away after hearing me out."
