This piece gives such insight into how much they cared for one another, aside from their partnership as detectives. It certainly enhances how one thinks of these two characters.

you need to start now. Immediately. Don't hesitate. They are the absolute best. And this one is a bit of icing on the cake. It is wondeful to see how Mary and Holmes come to be married after the rather abrupt beginning of their engagement.

Enjoyed this insight to the 'proposal' and the period that followed. I always felt a little cheated by the teaser that we were given. If this is your first taste of the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series, read them!! Read them all!

I am prejudiced. I think Ms. King is brilliant with her Russell and Holmes books. That aside, this is a delightful look at what it took to actually have their wedding take place, in the manor they wished. It is great fun to see what all (and who) it took.
