No one amongst the whole of our population entertained the notion that the planet they inhabited had intelligence, for it was during the formation of its vast oceans and erupting terrain that the earth, in its silent wisdom, bore children of its own. Born of the earth, the naturlings emerged from the elements. They lived through countless centuries in silence and without notice, fulfilling their life's duties and adhering to the unspoken laws-until humankind emerged.
