About the Author

Tyler R. Tichelaar has a PhD in Literature from Western Michigan University, and bachelor and master’s degrees in English from Northern Michigan University. He has taught various English courses from Freshman Composition to Argumentative Writing and the British Literature Surveys at Northern Michigan University, Western Michigan University, and Clemson University.
Tyler began writing his first novel when he was sixteen. After years of searching for a publisher, he decided to self-publish his novel Iron Pioneers: The Marquette Trilogy, Book One in 2006. Soon, other authors began to ask him for help with their own books. By joining the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association and various writing and publishing groups online, Tyler quickly began to make connections and soon was able to become a full-time freelance editor.
Today, Tyler operates his own editing company, Superior Book Productions, which has edited more than four hundred titles to date. Tyler also owns his own publishing company, Marquette Fiction. He is the author of numerous books, including The Marquette Trilogy, My Marquette, Haunted Marquette, The Best Place, King Arthur’s Children: A Study in Fiction and Tradition, The Gothic Wanderer: From Transgression to Redemption, When Teddy Came to Town, and the five books of the Children of Arthur series. He has been the President of the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association for eleven years. For five years, he was guest co-host of the Authors Access internet radio show, and for ten years the book reviewer for Marquette Monthly as well as the proofreader for nine.
