I read this book to my third graders every year. It's my favorite chapter book to read to them. Every year, I have fourth graders ask me if we've read The Orphan of Ellis Island yet. The kids love it!

I read this book for the first time in sixth grade. I loved it, and I read it in about one day, because I COULD NOT STOP. The plot is very interesting, with one surprise after another, and the ending is just wonderful. We can all relate to it some kind of way, which is one of the best things about it. If you read this book, you will not waste your time.

I read this book in school and it was so great! I liked how Dominic was so brave and didn't give up even in the scary parts of the book. It had a lot of information about immigration which is what we are studying in school.
