Eve Burke and Kenan Rhodes have been friends forever—it's just that Kenan is in love with Eve and Eve has an unrequited love for his brother. Eve and Kenan's relationship feels like old friends, the natural connection between them only heightened by their intense physical chemistry. Simone builds compelling family dynamics between both leads and their families. Her characters also must accept things about themselves to be truly open to the happiness love provides. Though short, the book has fully realized leads and supporting characters who add much to the overall story without merely being characters from previous books. Readers who are familiar with Boston will also enjoy the picture of the city she creates.
