This tight end is at the top of his game.

He's good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His--ahem--stats are perfect.

But I can't fall for him.

He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there's one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I've spent my entire life hating--my beloved school's arch-rival?

This guy is their star player.

About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is a two-time Romance Writers of America RITA© Finalist, is married with two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn't be any happier.

I really enjoyed this book

The premise of this book seemed really immature, and I honestly would not have looked twice at it had it not been for the author, who I have loved in the past. Unfortunately, I definitely wish I had trusted my first reaction. This book was annoying and immature more than anything, making it more reminiscent of a YA book with sex more than anything. I usually avoid college stories because they tend to warrant unnecessary drama and fabricated conflict, and that is exactly what happened with this story. Jay was a great, well-defined character with clear-cut goals for the story, but Kayla was incredibly annoying, and the entire conflict of the story centered on her inability to separate a silly rivalry from the rest of her life. I get how hardcore people can be with college football - trust me, my husband and his family are Alabama fans lol- but this is overdramatized to the point that it made Kayla seem to young for me to sympathize with. I will be reading more from this author, but I think I'm going to avoid titles featuring couples this young.

If story’s with a sexy football player and a die hard fan on your go to stories then look no further! The Rivalry is a fantastic read about a football star from Michigan who falls for the head cheerleader from Ohio State. Perfect mix of football ,romance and smoking hot chemistry!

This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I will be loading my TBR with her books! I thought by reading the blurb I knew what I was getting, wrong. The blurb doesn’t do it justice! I was hooked from the first page! I hoovered through this book so fast, I couldn’t put it down. Kayla is a senior at Ohio State University. She is captain of the cheerleading squad and a die-hard OSU fan. Her dad was the defensive coordinator for years at OSU and her mother even gave birth to Kayla in the OSU stands. Her family bleeds Ohio State Red! Kayla knows football and she scares suitors away because she knows stats and facts. The joke between her and her friend is that she made one of the guys she tried dating cry. Kayla promises her friend that she wouldn’t talk football or sports while at her wedding, which Kayla was a bridesmaid. Jay is a senior at The University of Michigan and the star tight end of the football team. He’s working hard to earn his degree and to also improve his game to enter the NFL draft. He is too busy to have a relationship, but he would like to meet someone that would love him for him, not his popularity as the football star. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. Gorgeous, smart, funny, sexy, the total package! He had me swooning! Kayla and Jay have a chance meeting at their mutual friend’s wedding. They hit it off and shared a few kisses. Jay gave Kayla his phone number but left off the last digit on accident. Kayla thought he did it on purpose because he didn’t want her to call. That wasn’t the case at all. They finally get a chance to see each other but the problem is Kayla finds out he goes to Michigan. Kayla HATES Michigan. Her family HATES Michigan. There is no way she can date this beautiful man. He is funny, sweet, incredibly sexy and his kisses make her weak in the knees. It just won’t work. Her family would never accept him and how could she explain it to her friends or the cheerleading squad? Jay doesn’t have the distaste for OSU as much as Kayla does for Michigan. He reassures her that the rivalry shouldn’t get in the way of what they feel for each other. Their chemistry is scorching! He is so patient, but Kayla has a hard time of letting go of the rivalry. He could convince her though, all he had to do was kiss her and she melted. I will tell you that this book had me laughing out loud! The banter, the parents, teammates and friends, added to the hilarity. I enjoyed this sweet, funny, and very sexy read. There is so much I want to tell you, but it would ruin the experience. I highly recommend this sweet, funny and very sexy sports romance!

Now I have to say hawt dyuuummm with The Rivalry written by Nikki Sloane! I love all of Nikki's writing and how dark they can get and a little risky. With the Rivalry she adds some sugar but keeps the spice. I love sports romance, but this book is hotter than I have read in a long time. I now think of the tight ends of football and Jay comes to mind. No lie, I am comparing football players to fictional characters and I DO NOT CARE lol. Kayla is my kinda girl. I could totally relate with her for the love of the game. When you bleed the game, you become it. When she and Jay start their cat and mouse game, I would have thrown the white flag up at the get go. The Rivalry will make you laugh, swoon, and feel bashful. Then we get the hot yummy sexy scenes and you are left wanting more. Then more is what you get! I love seeing this side of Nikki's writing. I did not put this book down!

Sexy and full of angst!! This is a very different book for the usual this author writes. I did enjoy it I was concerned at first but as usual this author pulled off an amazing read with great characters. Kayla and Jay are great characters, they met at a wedding and because Jay is the best player on Kayla's rival team she is not interested, only problem is he is so right for her in all the wrong ways (hehe) This is a quick fun sexy as hell well written book. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of this author and looking for a hot romance.

What happens when you meet a guy you really, really like and then you find out he’s playing for your team’s biggest rival? Can you just ignore it and behave as if it doesn’t exist? Will your relationship survive the differences. This is Kayla and Jay’s problem. They met by chance at the wedding of their best friends and hit it off right away. The banter between them was sweet and sexy. The chemistry was immediate and hot. Kayla was all for having a good time with Jay, but then he disappeared. When she finally gets ahold of his best friend to get his phone number, she’s told he can’t give it out, but tells Kayla where Jay hangs out. It’s not what she was expecting. At all!! Jay goes to school at the University of Michigan, Ohio State’s arch rival and this is Kayla’s school where she is the captain of the cheerleading squad. Even worse in Kayla’s eyes Jay is their star player. It’s not exactly a match made in heaven as far as their teams are concerned. Kayla tries to play off her attraction to Jay at the beginning, in fact she’s downright hostile and it’s amazing how he even bothered to persevere with her. But as we know, especially in our book worlds, in not in real life, when you know that you’ve found the right one, you’ll do damn near anything to win their love. That’s Jay all over. Kayla, not so much. So, will Jay get what he wants or will he fumble the ball. Can Kayla let go of her reservations and take their relationship to the Rose Bowl. Will there be a last second touchdown for the win? Tackle you copy now and discover the truth of The Rivalry.

“Look around. There are no enemies here. There’s just good, old-fashioned rivalry.” – Bob Wells The Rivalry might happen to be my first Nikki Sloane book, but let me just say that it certainly will not be my last! Right from the start I was hooked on the concept of a good wholesome school rivalry, but what I got was something so much more. This story was hilariously funny and I couldn’t help myself from laughing out loud time after time. I must admit that I have never been a football watching gal (please don’t pelt me with tomatoes…I’m a Minnesotan gal who is a hockey lover through and through), but give me a story with a hot as hell football player on the cover and that thought is completely thrown out! I think Nikki Sloane may have converted me…at least a little bit. Get ready to watch two arch-rivals fall in love…it doesn’t matter if you bleed red or blue because by the end you’ll be bleeding purple ( – yes that is totally a reference to mixing the colors red and blue together)!

This guy is gorgeous. He's tall, built like a stud, beautiful eyes and a sexy, kissable mouth. Jay is perfect, except he plays for the other team, not that team, a football team, the team Kayla has hated all her life. So she now has to ignore her secret wish to pounce on him every time they meet and kiss the very breath from his body. Jay and Kayla met at a wedding, they got on great but didn't pass on much information about each other, like their schools, who happen to hate each other. Yikes!! The bantering between them when they first met was hilarious and even more so when they joined up again and realized their situation. The ensuing story that follows is bursting with fun, witty banter and steamy, sexy scenes. A great story, I loved every funny squabble, and they proved even Rivals could kiss and make up!
