“Adele’s supernatural roller-coaster ride continues at breakneck speed.” —RT Book Reviews
Tormented by the fate she condemned her mother to, and by the lies she’s forced to tell to cover it up, Adele scours Storm-ravaged New Orleans for the truth about her family’s magical past. But every turn leads her back to the one person she’s determined to forget: the vampire Niccolò Medici. Not even the bewitched locks trapping him can break their connection.
Sensing Niccolò calling to Adele, Isaac tries relentlessly to keep her from exploring paths that would endanger them all. But a new threat is rising in New Orleans…an older enemy that will bring Isaac’s haunted past to life, test the witches’ friendships, and jeopardize Adele and Isaac’s blossoming relationship.
In this spellbinding continuation of The Casquette Girls saga, Adele delves into seventeenth-century Florence—a time bubbling with alchemy and fraternal betrayal. As she uncovers long-buried secrets, sorting history from fantasy will be her only hope of saving her mother, her coven, and her magic.

I give this 4 1/2 stars. I had looked forward to this book as soon as I ended the first one last year. I loved the characters and the description on New Orleans even in post storm. I was rooting for Nicco in the first book and still am rooting for Nicco. You really need to read the first book to follow along in this book. This book has more magic, more saving New Orleans on many different levels and vampires. My only two problems I had with this book was when she used a different language, most of the time you knew what was being said but there were times that I would have liked a translation. The other thing I didn't like was the ending, there were way to many questions left at the end, I hope that means more books. *Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion, though I would have bought this book.*
