From USA Today bestselling author Kelly Rey comes another laugh-out-loud installment in her Jamie Winters Mysteries …
Just when legal secretary and reluctant sleuth Jamie Winters thinks life has settled down and her prospects are looking up...murder catches up to her again!

When Howard falls under suspicion, his wife asks Jamie to investigate. While she's not exactly excited at the prospect of solving another murder, Jamie isn't thrilled with the idea of losing her job either. So with the help of her hot landlord Curt and Curt’s feisty teen niece Maizy, Jamie's on the case! But she soon finds herself dealing with a whole cast of suspects, including a shady agent, a group of anti-government geeks, a light-fingered ex-con, and a mysterious hitman for hire named Z. It couldn’t possibly get any worse…until it does. And suddenly Jamie wonders if this next case may be her last!

Jamie works at a law firm and is often tasks with the the menial things no one else desires. This meant she had to go with her boss Howard regularly to Dishing with Kay- a local show with a host of the worst attitude. when she was found dead, there was no shortage of those who were happy. but it was Howard who had been seen last with Kay. and they had argued. Howard didnt take well to being accused of murder. HIs wife asked Jamie to find the real murderer and bring Howard back to normalcy. After all, Jamie has done it before.... this was a funny book. Jamie and her sidekick, young Maizy are kind of a Lucy & Ethel type pairing. you never quite know what to expect from those two. I liked this third installment even better than the first one.
Mystery with Mirth… If you enjoy your mystery with humor then this is the series for you. This is the 3rd full length story in this series. Jamie is investigating the murder of a cable diva and trying to clear her boss with the help from her landlord/boyfriend Curt and his teenage niece Maizy. It is the antics of Maizy and Jamie that make the story. If you have not read this series you can still read this one as a stand alone, however, I would recommend you start at the beginning.
I really enjoyed reading this book! This is the third book in the series and they don't have to be read in order. The the characters are alot of fun and caught myself laughing out loud during the adventures they had trying to solve the murder, I definitely recommend this book!
Howard Dennis was the lawyer for Kay Culverson, a talk show host for Dishing with Kay. Kay is angry with Howard because she lost her court case. Kay asked Howard to meet her at the studio the next day because she thought the makeup girl was poisoning her. Jamie goes with Howard to see Kay at the studio the next day. Kay is going to send a revealing letter to Howard's wife and Howard threatens her then storms out. The next day Jamie gets a call from Maizy, Curt's niece, that Kay is dead and the police think Howard did it. Maizy thinks her and Jamie should investigate. Curt will only go along with this if they allow him to accompany them. Curt is Jamie's landlord and the current interest of her dreams. Jamie goes to work the next day and Howard is not there. His wife calls and asks Jamie to prove him innocent. As Jamie and Maizy start to investigate, Maizy's plans cause mayhem! Kelly Rey has written a mystery series with humor. I enjoy Maizy and all the characters at the law firm. An enjoyable book with mystery, mayhem and many laughs along the way present a formula for success.
Jamie is a spunky, fun amateur sleuth character that you're going to LOVE. This is 4th int he Jamie series but you can easily pick it up and read this book out of order. It's still hilarious and entertaining. It's a good, fast weekend read!
