The Soda Pop Partners

The adventure opens on a stretch of the highway that links the eastern states to the west coast in the era following the end of World War II. A fellow operates a soda pop stand for the highway travelers. Nearby, along this roadway are several neighbors who long for relief from their difficult lives.
