About the Author

Paul Stam was born and raised in the middle of the Belgian Congo of Africa. There he grew up listening to stories the old-timers had heard from the tribal story-keepers. From a very early age Paul wanted two things: to be a writer and to own and sail his own boat. Just before the end of World War II, when he was 15, Paul came to the United States. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard a destroyer during the Korean War. His tour of duty completed, Paul attended the University of Minnesota and later joined the staff. In 1968 he resigned academia and moved to Hawaii. Paul's first publication was in high school when his English teacher submitted a short-story assignment to a national high school literature magazine. Some 30 years later his first novel was published. Life, a family and a boat named Waiola put the brakes on writing for a while. Paul started writing again about five years ago and his latest novel, The Telephone Killer, will be published by Second Wind Publishing.
