The Theological Message of Guadalupe

Any theological study of the Guadalupe event must take into account the historical setting and the literary context in which the story has come down to us. The apparitions of Mary in 1531 to Juan Diego are set forth in detail in the "Nican Mopohua", the classic work of Don Antonio Vleriano that is studied in this work. This book emphasizes the Native American context of the apparitions and also includes a fresh translation into English of the "Nican Mopohua".
