Title The Vigilante Sub Title: Book 1 Murder in the City Series Author: Jacqui Morrison Copyright 2013 Jacqui Morrison Published by: Lachesis Publishing Inc. ISBN: 978-1-92755-21-7 E-BOOK ISBN: 978-1-927555-20-0 The Vigilante starts off fast and furious with the murder of a photographer that turns out to be a porn producer. We are introduced to Lynette Wilton a rookie homicide detective who has yet to make her bones. Lynette runs into a snag. No one including her boss wants her to continue her investigation into the death of the lowlife Sal Turbit. Her sergeant pulls her from the case, but Lynette disguises herself and follows her chief suspect on her own time. She makes a collar, only to be thwarted by a well known defense attorney who takes on the killers case. Crown attorney Maxine Swayman knows that her client has committed multiple crimes. She sets out to prove that the Vigilante was driven by grief and the need for revenge, and not right in the mind when the attempt to kill a man named Gil was made. Lynette sets out to tie the defendant to Sal’s murder before the end of the trial. This suspenseful murder mystery will keep readers turning the pages, and leave them breathless with anticipation to the very end. For readers in the United States Jacqui Morrison shows us a fascinating view of a very different courtroom procedure. This book was a pleasure to read. My review was made from a PDF supplied by the author for a blog tour in exchange for an honest review. Morrison’s Vigilante rates four and a half stars on my book meter.
