This third edition is a comprehensive update on current practice and includes online and downloadable versions.
Purpose: The purpose is fourfold: 1) to provide a practical manual that outlines the diagnosis and medical management of a broad variety of malignancies encountered by oncology trainees; 2) to cover essential principles of the major modalities currently used (surgery, radiotherapy, cytotoxic and molecularly targeted therapy); 3) to provide an overview of novel research directions carrying the field forward in genomics, immunology, tumor biology, and cancer genetics; and 4) to cover supportive care aspects such as pain management, nutrition support, smoking cessation, and palliative care.
