This is a perfect sequel to the first instalment. It picks up right where the 1st ended and takes off immediately with the complex storyline. Truly a page turner with all its twist and gut wrenching moments. Unanswered questions are answered and new key elements are brought to light. If you loved the first installment you'll love the second hands down. Make sure you give yourself a block of time to read cause you'll be pissed when you have to put it down. I can not wait for the third installment

I seriously think that i have read this book almost fifty times and i know every chapter by heart yet i am still on the edge of my seat when i read it and i am breathless. It is such a good book and i love the characters and the plot. There needs to be a freaking movie triology like the hunger games. I would pay to see the Jewel up on the silver screen. I'm imagining Vika Levina as Violet and someone else that looks exactly like Raven is depicted. Im dying because it's just so good.

This book picks up right where The Jewel left off, and it doesn't stop. There are new and interesting characters and unexpected moments. It still has that "The Selection" feel to me, but the story is definitely it's own. The ending leaves me worried for one of the characters. I'm really enjoying this story, and I can't wait for the next book!

Karen at For What It's Worth and Mary at The Book Swarm occasionally post twitter-style reviews. Karen calls hers Short and Tweet, and I am going to borrow that review style here. My short and tweet (longer) review: I am glad that I continued with this series, and will read the next one as well. I liked the romance more in this one, and I liked the character development, not only of main character but side characters as well. Some characters and plot twists surprised me, but still enjoy the ones that I saw coming. I like the strength and power that has developed in Violet, and the ways that she sees she can help, and love the continuance of her seeing through other people.
