Overview

A rhyming picture book for 2-8 year olds, their parents and grandparents.

At the dinner table, a clever boy uses his imagination to avoid eating his peas. With a stuffed mouse on his head, he tries to convince Grandma that the mouse is hungry and needs to be fed not only the peas, but the rest of his dinner as well.

The boy's little sister wants to add her own ideas to their pretend story and Grandmother happily plays along. But, when the peas hit the cat bowl, it's bedtime for Mouse!

Filled with charming illustrations, this delightful rhyming picture book is suggested for children ages 2-8.

Parents and educators will find this book inspires early childhood dramatic play, creative movement, classroom puppet shows and craft activities. This story will appeal to a variety of caregivers and also serves as an example of a positive grandparent-grandchild bond.

“There's a Mouse on My Head” is likely to become a favorite family bedtime book!

A wonderful read! The story, rhyme, and illustrations come together to make a truly entertaining, enjoyable read. I just love the story and the illustrations. I can't stress this enough. The illustrations really captured the story and gave it another dimension. Children will most certainly love this book, as will parents reading it to their children. I can envision this book as a staple in households that have family story time. I will spark some great conversations about dinner, nutrition, and the importance of eating your peas! *** I received a free book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review***
