I really can't rate the book as good or not for it's writing. I read for the pleasure of the story and this story is not a pleasant one. It felt to me as if this was written by an adolesant, or perhaps it has that feel because of the characters. I wondered why there had been no synopsis, but page one will set the scene and give you a true taste of this poor childs life. It starts out with a 5 year old and a pedifile (and the pedifiles wife who seems okay with this) and it goes down hill from there as far as how this child grows up and is constantly being put into sexual situations beyond her control. Mom is blind to the abuse in her own home via her son. I could not take any more after about page 30. Too depressing for me. I am just glad I had not spent any money onn the book. To each his own - if you want to learn about the seedier side of life then here you go.

The story is about a very dysfunctional family and what happened to the family over the years. It deals with a very sad but real topic of abuse. The story line itself was all right. However, this book needed some serious editing. There was one part of the story that definitely needed a transition because it jumped from one place to another in the story without the fill in information. What drove me nuts as I was reading, was the author started out using dates as divisions, and then half way through the book decided to throw in a couple of chapter numbers starting with chapter IX as the first chapter number. There were spacing issues, some missing words or misspelled words. These weren't enough to distract from the story, though they should have been caught. I have read better books but I have also read worse ones as well.

This book was very touching. However it does contain a lot of very adult themes in it, so I recommend mature readers only for this book. I was happy that she finally broke free from her torment in the end. This one is a real page turner!

This is a really depressing topic. This book seems almost like an autobiography. The whole baby's daddy generation throws a lot of children together with different dads and one mom who's the main caregiver. What a mess. Why would you want to be around someone who you know is a child molester? For the sake of social propriety? Also, who is working and paying for child support? Why would you choose to bring an innocent baby into this world if you don't have a safe environment and salary to support and provide a successful rearing of a child? It is selfish to have children to fulfill your emotional needs. And then depend on gov't for child support. This reminds me of a man I 've seen who has nine children with 4different women. He doesnt work, perhaps sporadically. He will continue having more children. I feel really bad for the type of start these children have. It just continues the cycle of failure and hopelessness. Why bring children into that kind of life?

Definitely worth reading!!!!! Powerful story of a young girl's continued sexual abuse by her brother that lasted into adulthood. The mother was blind to what was happening and this young girl felt she had nowhere to turn. Story needs editing but is still powerful enough to make u overlook the errors. Great book!!!!!

This book for many of the same reasons the other reviewers did. It was such a believeable story i actually had pity for the main person. This story probably is true in someones world. For them i'm sorry.

I initially thought this book read like it was written by a grade schooler. But after reading reviews (when I was deciding to finish), I found out the author wrote a review and was writing from her own experience. That changed the whole perspective for me and I finished and glad I stuck with it. The victim was determined and won out in the end.

I wasn't going to rate this, but B&N is forcing me. However, being the author of this book, I admit that I quite biased. I wrote this book, so many years ago I can't even remember the exact date. However, I would like to clear up a few things that I read in a few other reviews. First, I take complete blame for any editing errors since the book was self published via Smashwords. I read it several times, and made many corrections, but without a professional editor... Second, the research done on this book was from personal experience. I am Nicole. Some of the things you will read in this book have been exaggerated to deftract attention from others who are truly innocent. Third, the government did not provide child support for my children. I raised them, on my own, through gainful employment. They are now all grown with children of their own, so I like to think I did a pretty decent job in raising them. Thank all of you for your reviews, both positive and negative. Most importantly, thank you for reading this book. Lastly, for anyone who has experienced sexual abuse, seek help. Writing this book served as my catharsis since formal therapy didn't work for me.

This book is graphically detailed, heart gripping, and attention grabbing from start to finish. It's a story of incest between siblings, a brother who is a predatory serial offenders and his sister who is groomed into a life long victim. As they move into adulthood and start families of their own, the awful experience of having to watch as he is exposed to his own daughters and having to protect her own carry the story to another realm of emotional turmoil. There are unforeseen twists and painful happenings, but the details are well researched and the author obviously put effort into gaining understanding of this subject before this writing. The ending is a bit odd and eyebrow raising, but the story is good enough to earn five stars in spite of this.

I haven't read thi book yet. From the other comments I want and don't want to read this book. I'm almost 12 and another 12 year-old said this book was bad so, I don't know what to think. Maybe some editorial reviews will help me decide. On ever book i've read on this nook there are absolutly no editorial reviews. It's your book then review it. If you don't review it then you are basicly saying you don't like your book. And if you don't like your book then why did you put it on the nook barnes and noble shop! Huh! Huh! Huh! O.k. i'm tierd now so Bbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeee!!!$#@&*¿¿¿¿?¿¿¿~`•?¿^?¿ random signs LOVE ME SOME RANDOM SIGNS!

It was a really good read even if there were spelling errors and spacing errors as well. Nicole obviously would have amounted to more if her brother would'nt have traumatized her so bad and she ended up doing the only thing she knew how.
