They Rode Good Horses
An unlikely friendship develops between
two young boys during the long winter of
1840. Brady McCall, ten years of age, and
Franklin T. Stilwell, fifteen, are thrown
together in St. Joseph, Missouri, where their
families have relocated to wait for an early
start westward in the spring. The boys forge
an alliance that will determine the course of
the rest of their lives, as unforeseen
circumstances thrust them brutally into a
world of survival never imagined in their
worst nightmares. They Rode Good Horses
is a touching epic of hope and rebirth set
against the stark and often unforgiving
realities that beset those whose lives take
them into uncharted territory. Ultimately
Brady and Franklin find themselves against
a challenge they never see coming. The two
aging cowboys resist their advancing years
and the encroachment of progress with
complete abandon and the recklessness of
their youth.
