About the Author

Stefanie Moss was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio 10/2/1976. She comes from a background where she was raised in theater and arts. Stefanie is the 2nd oldest of 6 children. Although Stefanie has no background in a degree of writing, her passion to be a playwright is her first love.

As a young child she would perform for the local recreation centers and put on plays. She has been performing poetry and writing about the inner city since she was a teenager. She would sometimes write to escape the pressure of gangs and violence that she saw in her school and neighborhood.

Her passion is to bring change for people of color and mostly to the inner city. She has worked on her first play called “A Place to Remember” which was held at the Ohio Historical Society in 2012. It won a grant of 6,000 dollars to be produced by New Harvest Urban Arts Center. The play speaks about the African American community from late 1800 to present time. The play gives tribute to the African American jazz musicians, poets, educators and politicians who shaped Columbus, Ohio on the Near East side called the Blackberry Patch. Her main focus is fair housing for minorities who would like to live in the inner city and bringing awareness to Redevelopment in urban inner city communities. Her biracial background gives her more in depth look at the everyday issues minorities have to overcome and still trying to overcome. Stefanie Moss is proud to be African American playwright who can touch base on topics most would be afraid to speak or write about.

Stefanie researched her home town area for over 10yrs. Stefanie is also the writer and the winner of 2012 200Columbus Chase Neighborhood Grant program “A Place to Remember” with New Harvest Urban Arts Center. It was held at the Ohio Historical Society for its unique background in history of Columbus, Ohio. Below are some links.
