About the Author

In the early 1940s, a loving father crafted a small blue wooden engine for his son, Christopher. The stories that this father, Reverend W. Reverend Awdry died in 1997 at the age of 85.

My son is 19 months old and LOVES this book. We just recently introduced Thomas and he has fallen completely head over heels in love with the trains. This is the first Thomas book we have bought. I liked the fact that it was a board book and a lift the flap book. There is not really much of a story, but my son wants it read every night and loves to look under all the flaps. We also use it as a memory game and ask, where is the bird? Or where is the lion? I am always amazed that he remembers where each item is hidden.

This little book I purchased for my grandson who is a huge Thomas fan. He is three and just loves to open the little flaps to see what is hidden beneath.I thought it was a wonderful book for his age.

My 21 month old son "reads" this book over and over. The flaps keep his little hands busy and the pictures of Thomas and the other trains keep him interested. And it doesn't make noise so I love it!
