My heart is thumping so fast I so LOVED reading this book. Every chapters of this book is so exciting to read. You will never have a dull moment reading this book. My very first time to read the author's writing. I would say it is not my last. My heart is thumping so fast The characters never stop to amazes me. This book is sooooooooooooooooooooooo good. It is hard to put it down. This is the reason why suspense or mystery is my second favorite genre to read. The chase you find out who the killer is beyond amazing. This book is funny too. I laugh out so loud especially talking about men's important health. No wonder my husband never done that procedure. This book is so beautiful to read aside from your adrenaline is pumping up. It feels so real reading about military and their heroism. It feels like you are right there in the scene. Miss Lauren Carr makes you feel very special when you read her books. I cannot wait to read more of her writings. I am a new fan. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read mystery and military. You will loved it as much as I did.

It’s Three Days To Forever. The countdown has begun. Will it be Til Death Do Us Part or Rest In Peace? Day One. It’s three days until Mac Faraday and Archie Monday tie the knot. Family and guests are arriving at the fabulous Spencer Inn, owned by Mac. A stalker sends a picture to Mac. It shows the man with his arm around Archie and says, “I was this close.” The stalker ends up dead, stabbed multiple times with a knife engraved with the Spencer Inn’s initials. Mac becomes a suspect. While in contact with the police at the scene of the crime, Mac, along with Joshua, his best man, Agnes, his soon to be mother-in-law, and Gnarly, his faithful German Shepherd, come under attack as a hit squad shoots up the place. Joshua is shot but they all make it out alive and escape to a safe house. And Archie’s spitting mad about the hair-do she got at the salon. Not what she wanted at all, and too late to change it before the wedding. I must tell you, she’s not being shallow. She doesn’t know about the attack yet. Day Two. Time to figure out who attacked and why. Did stalker, Russell Dooley, now dead, hire the hit men? He was out for revenge after Mac got his wife locked up in prison. Once she learned her last appeal failed and she’d never get out, she killed herself. Dooley blamed it all on Mac and swore revenge on him and those he loved. Or could it be something to do with Joshua? He has a lot of secrets. Really big ones. Or could it be something else? The men scramble to solve the mystery while the women scramble to keep their men in line and at their appointed destinations on time. Day Three. Ah, it’s the wedding day. I wonder if it will happen. Will their be wedding crashers, with big guns? That I can’t share with you. You’ll have to read the book to find out. Wow. what a rollercoaster this was. Stalkers, black-ops, terrorists. Global connections keep you guessing as to who is doing what and why. The character list is vast. A description of each one is provided at the beginning of the book. After reading each one, I quickly became familiar with their names and the story flew. Aside from the violent parts of the book, there’s plenty of humor, romance, and fun pets. Especially fun is the furry Monique. I had no idea when I started reading this book that it was the 9th book in the series, and had no trouble at all following the plots and connecting with the characters. I’ve put a face to most of them and now I want to go back to the beginning and see how they all first connected. Lauren Carr has a few other mystery series with characters you’ll recognize. All of her books are stand alone reads so feel free to jump in anywhere you like.

For most people, getting ready for their wedding is stressful, but for Mac and Archie it’s more like a nightmare. While most people are fighting off wedding day jitters, Mac, his soon to be mother in law and his friend/groomsman Joshua are fighting off a hit squad that has been sent to kill them. With the wedding just a few days away our characters are left racing against time to find out who is behind the hit and why so that Mac can meet Archie at the alter for what is expected to be the social event of the year. This is the second book by Lauren Carr that I have read and I have to say that I am becoming quite the fan. Because this is book 9 in the Mac Faraday series I was slightly worried that I would have a hard time following along, but that wasn’t an issue at all. Even for a late starter in the series it easy to keep up with the characters and I love that Lauren includes what is best described as an opening credits for the characters that also includes a short biography for each individual. She has a great writing style that flows well and does a wonderful job at keeping you guessing and she certainly knows how to play up the suspense. While some situations were a bit unbelievable, there were so many twists and turns that it was impossible to get bored and I found myself consumed by the story line and couldn’t bring myself to put it down.

Lauren Carr in her new book, “Three Days to Forever” Book Nine in the Mac Faraday Mystery published by Acorn Book Services gives us another adventure with Mac Faraday. From the back cover: In this latest Mac Faraday Mystery from best-selling mystery author Lauren Carr, readers will embark on a rollercoaster adventure with old friends (including the Lovers in Crime team of Prosecutor Joshua Thornton and Homicide Detective Cameron Gates), but also meet new ones as Mac Faraday’s daughter Jessica Faraday and Joshua Thornton’s son Murphy Thornton join the team in the race to get the love birds to the altar! But droopy flowers and guests who failed to RSVP are the least of Mac’s and Archie’s problems when a professional hit squad hits Spencer Manor to send the groom, Joshua Thornton, Archie’s mother, and Gnarly running for their lives. With time running out to the big day, Mac Faraday and Spencer’s small police force have to sort through the clues to figure out not only who has been targeted for assassination, but also who is determined to stop everything … FOREVER! I am sure that I have never attended a wedding like what happens in this one. Mac Faraday is finally going to marry his fiance Archie and the guests are arriving. So are a lot of others that aren’t there for the festivities. Up until this book I had never heard of Mac Faraday. After this I will go out and track down the previous eight so I can spend more time with these characters. Ms. Carr has added things that you usually do not find at a wedding: shootings, kidnappings, murders and on top of everything terrorists out for blood. There is quite a lot going on in these three days. Once you get started you will not want to put this book down until you actually finish. Mac and Archie are very interesting characters and seem to leap off the page. I believe you are going to be caught up in this one. I have enjoyed reading this book. This book is a part of a series and I have not read any of the others in the series. I would recommend reading them in order. I am able to read this as a stand alone but think it would be even better in order. One thing that helps is that there is a character list in the front of the book. I like the author's writing style and how she can keep me guessing throughout the story line. There are plenty of twists and turns in this book which makes it read that much faster and add in a little romance for good measure. It is fun getting to know the characters. This was different than most of the mysteries that I read but I have to say it was a nice change.

I am not a fan of terrorism or spy novels so this one was a bit hard for me to read. I did enjoy a lot of the book that was not dealing with terrorism and spies. I really enjoyed reading about the wedding and the craziness involved in their wedding, and was thankful I had none of those problems when planning my own wedding. A few things were a little unbelievable in the book, but it was an ok read and I only say that because it turned out to not really be my type of book. In the book the race is on to get everything in place for the Social event of the of the year. Mac Faraday and Archie Monday's wedding, which is 3 days away. The story takes place mostly in Deep Creek at or around the Famous Spencer Inn and Spencer Manor. Both of which are owned by Mac Faraday. A team of hit men show up to kill Mac, the Brides mother, and their dog Gnarly. I love how Lauren Carr introduces you to the cast at the very front of the book. I kind of skimmed over it at first, but as I got into the book I really liked having it there as a reference when a new character showed up, since I have not read the other books in the series. I like her writing style she does try to keep your attention and to keep turning the pages. She does a great job with details, she tells you just enough to let you picture it without boring you to tears by making the book 3/4 details. I really loved that.

When I signed up for this review, I didn't realize that this was book 9 in a series. Never fret though, I didn't feel lost or anything during this book. In my opinion these can be read as stand alone novels. I do think I am going to have to go back and read more about Mac Faraday though. Lets me start off by saying that I could not put this book down. There are a lot of things I liked about this book, so lets start with that :). The characters. The author had a description of the characters at the beginning of the book that I could reference if I forgot who they were. It came in handy for me a few times, because there are a lot of characters. Which I loved. I will just mention a few. Mac Faraday...A retired detective, turned millionaire is probably one of my favorites. I love his whit and the way his brain works. Murphy Thornton - Naval Academy graduate. Do I even need to say more? No. Yum, Yum, and more Yum. Strong, handsome, and brilliant. hmmm... Jessica Faraday - I didn't think I was going to like her. A poor girl thrown into high society when her dad inherits millions. She takes the role on way too well. She seems like such a princess. Then we get to know her. Let's get real - all of the characters were my favorite. Seriously. Each one played such vital role, and watching them connect and come together was a page turning adventure. *** MAY BE A SPOILER *** I really liked ALMOST everything about this book. It has one hitch. Just one. I know for some it wouldn't even be a hitch, but it is one of my pet peeves as a reader. Insta love. Oh, say it isn't so. Yes, yes it is. I loathe insta love. I am all for "connection" at first sight, but love at first sight. No...just no. So here I am reading, soooo excited, turning, and turning and then I'm rolling my eyes thinking "ya, like that would happen". This totally would have been a 5 star but I just couldn't do it for those few little parts that insta love comes in. If you don't mind insta love, then will be an even more fabulous read for you!!!! NOW, having said that, don't let it stop you from reading it. Just be aware :). It's such a great book, with great characters, and so much excitement. I am so looking forward to reading more from Carr!

Three Days to Forever by Lauren Carr The author has you guessing from beginning to end. It action packed along with a mystery though out. Laura Carr gives you what you look for in a mystery along with a little romance. What up with all the Navy and military doing though out the book. Mac and Archie hard being dealt with getting ready for their wedding. They're a family secret and what could that be? Somehow Mac Faraday and David and Cameron are targeted along with Archie mother. There a killer on the loose and they want something Mac Faraday has. The terrorist wants to claim on a few members. They attempt to kidnap a woman. There seems to have a mishap at every turn. Will Murphy and the navy be heroes? This is a book is worth reading and getting the other books in the series would be worth buying. If you enjoy mystery or crime and detective books. This may be your cup of tea.

Lauren Carr and Mac Faraday never let me down. I am familiar with Mac Faraday and his cohorts, so I was happy to be able to read to review this mystery novel. I felt Lauren Carr would not let me down and was right. I enjoyed the novel and look forward to reading more of her work. I am loving the cover, simple, yet I sense an aura of menace. Mac Faraday and Archie Monday are getting married. It will be the event of the season for the Spencer Inn and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. Just days before the wedding, Mac receives an envelope, containing a warning. As if that is not enough of a problem, he is attacked by a professional hit squad and the tale is off and running. Someone wants him dead. Or do they? Is he the real target? It seems so obvious, I am suspicious. I read on, getting deeper into the story, more involved with the characters as the danger spreads. Plots within plots. There is so much going on, twisting and, turning, keeping me wondering how this will come together in a completed story. Who's doing what to whom? Is it revenge for a perceived wrong? A terrorist threat from Iraq? There are too many characters to mention, but they all contribute to the story in their own special way. We have met some of them before and will hear about some of them again and again, as we travel through the mystery series with Lauren Carr. An invisible unit: Under the cover of anonymity, a secret unit, that does what no one else can do, what cannot be allowed to reach the light of day. They are cloaked in secrecy and deniability. The politics are dirty, but necessary. This book will expose its biggest weaknesses, at the highest levels. Three Days To Forever by Lauren Carr reads as if it could be true. The good. The bad. The current events. Revenge, murder, terrorism, romance, love, loyalty and a determination to do what is right, regardless of the consequences. Three Days To Forever is not a light read. The mystery and suspense kept me captivated, as I traveled from Iraq to the United States and back again. Lauren kept me guessing and on my toes. I never anticipated all the events that would ensue. I did not sit on the edge of my seat with bated breath, or have to stay up all night until I finished it, but I did read the book, which is 434 pages in this ARC paperback, within a twenty four hour period. I look forward to reading more Mac Faraday mysteries by Lauren Carr, or anything else she chooses to write.
