The Queen is not happy about what the Royal poet wrote and threw him in the dungeon and she seeks revenge without breaking a promise to her husband by not shedding any blood so, she cast a bunch of cliche's on the village and when the king returns he finds villagers doing all sorts of strange things and he goes about trying to find a way to break the cliche spells. This is a great short story. I Love it Aubrey!!

Fairy tale lovers will delight in this short story. When a queen is offended as being portrayed as an evil cliche by the local poet, she exacts her revenge on the whole town by making everyone who reads her proclamation act out a cliche... over and over. It's a fun read that will have you playing "count the cliches" until the cows come home. I purchased this title through alfiedog fiction.

"To Cast a Cliche" is a cute short (very short) story about Lucinda, who after being portrayed as a cliche by William Writer, casts a spell upon the kingdom to be subjected to colloquialisms/cliches. Her stepson, the king, rights the kingdom upon his return and punishes her with the same. It's cute, quick and light, an original modern day fairytale. It would be really cute as a picture book and is good for all ages. I wish that they had included which cliches the townspeople were acting out, as I don't think I got all of them, but it's still fun and comical, even if you don't get all of them. I'd definitely read again and recommend for everyone! Please note that I received this book from the publisher through netgalley.

This book is just too funny to be passed up. I really enjoy reading the literature terms and sometimes the 'cliche' just stick there. There is a fun twirl in the words and I love reading it!
