About the Author

Erma Note grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Mexico when she was 23 years old to volunteer with an orphanage. While in Mexico, she learned about Mexican culture and improved her Spanish. She met and married her husband, and they moved to different cities within Mexico for his job. Erma learned to adapt and grow through her travels. Erma and her husband are the proud parents of three bicultural, bilingual daughters who love Mexico and visiting their family and friends in Chicago.

“Travels with Grace” is a charming tale of a bicultural, bilingual girl growing up in one of the largest cities in the world. Grace and her family see some of the sites as they tour with cousin Connor, who is visiting. The book features a lot of English and Spanish words and shares insight into the rich history, culture, food, and language of Mexico City. The beautiful, colorful illustrations are truly works of art that made me want to visit as soon as possible, and my children loved learning about some of the history of Mexico through this travel story. I hope to see more children’s books from this author, as they have a great message and are entertaining, educational, and beautifully illustrated.
