About the Author

Seth Hettena is a former, long-time investigative reporter for the Associated Press, where he covered numerous stories of political corruption as well as covering the CIA. But he is perhaps best known for being the reporter who broke the story of US Navy Seals torturing prisoners in Abu Ghraib (by discovering photos of the torture). He was sued for that reporting by the Navy Seals, but the judge dismissed the suit, saying that Hettena "merely distributed a truthful story, with photos that depict a topic of great public interest." Hettena's work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, and the New Yorker, and, via the AP wires, most of the newspers in America. He currently resides with his wife and sons in San Diego, CA.

Really great "deep dive" into the Trump camp's long-time connections to Russian organized crime and oligarchs. Very pertinent background on Michael Cohen's connections to Russia, as well as the machinations of how money flowed from Russia into the Trumps' pockets individually and through their corporations. Hettena's attention to detail, and breakdowns of the relationships, makes this a very readable book with easy to follow connections. With the current ongoing investigation into Trump and his circle's connections to Russia, this is an important book to read to understand the long-existing relationship and how it impacts current events.
