Twin Flames by Lexi Ander

A Lycan descendant of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Tristan is not as extraordinary as his ancestors. He is an average warrior, unremarkable throughout. But this fact does not trouble him because he has found his Twin Flame, the one person destined to be his, who will love him unconditionally, life after life.

Then his Flame betrays him, leaving him shattered and dying. Brokenhearted, Tristan dissolves the sacred bond and leaves. His best friend, Ushna, accompanies him, vowing to guard and protect him, and Tristan slowly comes to realize that love does not require a sacred bond.

But if he hopes to keep the love he chooses, they will first have to survive ancient secrets, lies, mythical creatures, and the return of absent gods...

I love the twist of mythology, m/m romance, suspense, and mystery. I started this book while book six was in pre-order status which I'm thankful for because while this first part of the story reaches a potential climax, the end is still a type of cliffhanger; so I'm anxious to see what's next. I hate Theo for what he did to Tristan and my heart was already rooting for Ushna long before the scene when he goes warrior to protect Tristan from Craig. Seeing Tristan learn to actually live again was so great, and watching him and Ushna dance around their attraction. I like Randy already and am intrigued to see how his story plays out in the background.

What an amazing read! So I have to be honest, I’ve had the book for forever. And I’ve not read it because of the cover (sorry, Lexi) I’m a cover snob and this one does nothing for me. Then boss lady calls me one Sat and says book three is coming out do I want? So I read 20 pages and called her back, YES!!!!! That Sunday, I sit down to read book one, and I don’t get up until I’m done. The heart breaking scene at the beginning with Tristan, the way Theo is devastated by the way he’s caused this pain but Tristan stands by he’s decision. The conviction in Ushna tone, that he will be his guardian. And that’s just the first chapter! And it doesn’t stop, the fight scene in that alley the blood oath ceremony, even the chase through the woods, so intense. You can feel the emotion rolling off both of the MC’s for each other, as well as for their friends and family. Even the secondary people in the story have you sitting up and taking notice, Randy the foreman, he has a story I’m sure. The way everything is described you feel your right there, eating breakfast, dancing. It does leaving you with a cliffy, which I do not like, but I’m just happy I’ve book two waiting for me! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews

I want to start this review off by saying, do not start reading this book before you go to bed because you will be up all night long! I am a new-ish fan to Ms. Ander having only ever read 1 other book by her. This book was more up my alley because I do enjoy the wolf shifter books and I was excited to start the book. I will admit though, I went into it with an open mind because I wasn’t completely sure how I would feel once I got into the story. But I’m so excited that Ms. Ander gave her wolf shifters something new, that twist that isn’t in other shifter books that I have read in the past. That alone made this book an automatic 5 stars from me. The drama, suspense, action, and the drive for me to read more and more just made the book that all much better. I would really recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the M/M genre. Even if you’re not into the paranormal genre, I would say you should really give this book a try. A quick rundown: Tristan has found his twin flame in Theo but Theo hasn’t let Tristan return the mark. Theo wants to be able to have children ( and is just a big cheater) .Hurt Tristan brings Theo before the council and instead of having Theo forced to accept him, he chooses ot break the bond which could kill him. In breaking the bond he will also have to leave the pack since Theo is Alpha. Tristan’s childhood friend Ushna accepts responsibility as guard and to help Tristan survive.   This is  going to be one awesome series. I couldn’t put down this book once I got into it. The characters are all very deep and well defined, and interesting. You love the good guys and hate the bad ones! The story starts off with a lot of history and has lots of big names, but there is a glossary in the front that helps a lot. I do suggest you read that before starting the book.  But after getting through all the history and scene setting the story is worth it. It is intriguing, fast paced, twists and turns, you don’t see half of it coming and yeah it’s just awesome! The love developing between Tristan and Ushna is so sexy and sensual you don’t need the actual sex. I found the story beautiful and breathtaking and as soon as I finished I picked up the next book!( had to  what a cliff hanger!)  Recommendations:  If you like futuristic, other worlds, fantasy, shifters, Gods and Goddess’s, a bit of suspense, friends becoming lovers, mates, and just a darn super good book. This is a must read
